No fuel flow in start or run 97 Legacy sedan
EVOthis replied to Gnuman's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXwell check under your trunk liner first...easier than removing rear seat....yeah i hear you about the 3 relays up in the drivers side foot well...what i dont understand is why did subaru decide to put 3 out of the 4 cooling fan relays in the engine fuse box and stick one up inside the car next to the main relay and fuel pump relay...

Noisy Legacy transmission
EVOthis replied to Mikevan10's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXi had a problem similar to this in the trans on my 96 legacy....if i were you i would prob. just go ahead and replace the trans with a good used one...at the mileage your questioning the longevitity of your center diff. also (unless you have recently replaced that)....i ended up losing 4th gear.....just a suggestion....i didnt really feel like splitting the case halves and trying to find out what was wrong...

98 OBS running rough 2.2 5sp
EVOthis replied to lmdew's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXi chased something similar a little while ago on my 96 Leg. EJ22 and i turned out the connectors for the fuel injectors were swapped so obviously it was injecting fuel at the wrong time....worth a quick check....as for the plugs and wires im assuming you you used OEM?....to check for the vacuum leaks did you do a vacuum test?...if not i would do a vaccum test and see what you get.....

Overheat after water pump job
EVOthis replied to idosubaru's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXi recently did the radiator on my 96' EJ22 and that thing was just as stubborn...so finally i just took it up to like 6k RPMs for a second and let off...and said good bye to the air bubble....sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt....also im not sure what year this car was but the newer ones like 05+ have the heater core higher up in the dash so they love to get air pockets...we usually just raise the front of the vehicle off the ground to make sure it flows through the heater core w/ no air pockets...

Fuel Damper Valve?
EVOthis replied to EVOthis's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXah.......u know i asked one of the master techs at work today and he said it does exactly how it sounds....it dampens the sound of the fuel because the fuel lines run through the passanger compartment...i would have never thought of that...lol

Wrx 2002
EVOthis replied to j2coe's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXwow mid 12's thats pretty quick!.....i just bought my 02 REX from a guy over at clubwrx.net named Rogan......apparently the orig. 2.0 went due to lack of oil psi so he decided to go all out.... Engine: 2.5 STI block and crank 2.0 WRX heads p&p, decked, with a three angle valve job and blended bowls Eagle H beam rods Arias 9.5:1 pistons ARP rod bolts and head studs Cometic head gaksets Hondata intake manifold gaskets TGV deletes Walbro 255 lph pump 800cc Injectors aeromotive red billet fuel rails Precision GT32 Turbo Precision FMIC custom rotated catless up pipe 3" downpipe 3" cold air intake full 3 "turbo back exhaust w/QTP electric cutout to open DP Tial 46mm External Gate Tial 50mm BOV Front mount oil cooler custom oil catch can im sure there is other stuff im forgetting....anyways the car is currently tuned to about 22 PSI and about 400 WHP....i have yet to run the car (or any car for that matter) is there any tips you could give me to help me learn to launch the car? I dont really want to abuse the stock 5 SPD with the orig. stock Clutch to much....also another really loose question...what times should i expect to run with this setup? (driven properly of course)....i just joined clubwrx.net and there are a ton of people on there and so much to learn....just tryin to get your opinion.....thanks and good luck w/ the REX! ( oh and sorry to j2coe for jacking your thread a little)...

Cam/crank seals leaking after t-belt
EVOthis replied to Mugs's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVX+1^ i work for Subaru and the way we look at it is again if they arent leaking leave them alone.....also i have been talking to some of the master techs and they say usually they dont even do the water pump w/ the timing belt job because they rarely go bad....i found that kind of surprising.....

Maintenance on a 2.2l Legacy
EVOthis replied to stephenw22's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVX+1^..excellant engines....i have an ej22 in my 96....non interference (until 97), no head gasket issues (usually) and are extremely reliable......i have almost 200,000 on my legacy and it runs like it has 50,000.....very good investment in my minds eye.....
