  1. I don't remember enough how these work, but the little resistor thingy (technical term) is right next to the blower, I have a couple of those blown so a couple of my speeds don't work, but I think you'd at least get full speed with all of those blown, so that's probably not it. I hate electrical issues why won't the power just go where it's supposed to
  2. now I kinda-totally disagree, well, not really you are right, but go back to that same situation and put stock tires on Qman's rig, now who has the advantage? I think that was the point morgan was making, if you want clearance, and don't want to do a full lift AND big tires, than the tire size will give it to you faster than a lift will. and good point, crank those adjustables down, that's the only "modification" done to mine, and it'll go places some stock trucks and jeeps can't!!!
  3. WELCOME, but for future reference, this should be in the new generation forum Do it yourself, get a haynes and/or chiltons manual, call napa, make sure they have the part, pull the old one, drive in, trade in yours for a deposit towards the remanufactured one, drive home, put it in, save receipt (lifetime warranty) Mine cost less than a boot kit (less than $30), and I don't even want to think about labor costs, it's an easy job, just a little time consuming OH WAIT, I don't remember, does the axle need to be pressed out of the steering knuckle? if that's the case, then you are probably going to have to pay someone to do it.
  4. also, the FRONT springs off an '86-'89 honda accord (prelude too? haven't tried it yet, but I got a set for free and they look similar) will lift the BACK of your subie about an inch
  5. Snowman's a rule to live by, with my habits, if I had a fast car, I'd be dead or in jail!!!
  6. please don't do that, it may be easier, but this is a one of a kind car. It'll probably be hard to find someone willing to pay what you put in to it. I'd say, if you have the means, hang on to it. If not, try cars.com, autotrader, etc. if you get nothing there, then default to ebay. BTW, it has been crossposted on xt6.net
  7. definately, my grandma's caravan has almost the exact same thing, it's actually quite nice
  8. I'd love to help, but probably don't have any skills that would be helpful in any way, but I would definately be a customer, probably not for much, but I'd be there anyway. I bet if you asked real nice, you could use some/all of the tech articles off the USRM.
  9. I'm very interested, I don't know that I'm up for $200 for all 4, but if it were closer to $30 a piece, and depending on shipping, I'd be in. especially if it didn't happen until spring, that would fit better with MY project anyway. I also assume these would be for 4 wheel disc brakes (not an issue here)
  10. as my friend always says, "understeer scares the driver, oversteer scares the passenger(s)!" good work! this will also make parts slightly easier to find, well, I guess the hub/rotor/backing plate won't but, it still opens it up some.
  11. I've seen this before, and I know it was from "the land of oz" lol, but I'm pretty sure it was green, had a top mount intercooler, and side-dump exhaust. I think it was a board member too

  13. go for a Gl wagon, not the Dl, just for those luxury items, i.e. maplights, power windows/locks etc. I'm not sure what's standard on what, but the Gl will make it a much more comfortable ride, and if you're really looking for luxury (as much as subie can get) go for a GL-10
  14. Hey, I see that route takes you right through duluth! I may have figured out another way to come, but if not, would you guys be willing to pick me up on the way through town? I'll bring my digital camera, and food!
  15. Well, That's on a pretty sharp right hand turn, the pic was taken from up the road where I came from, and I am pointed in the end direction, unfortunately I'm about 6 feet too far too the left. It was a beautiful drift, right up until that snowbank, and even then, I bet it looked pretty cool.
  16. you like snow shots? how about this one! uh, woops!
  17. I too had the same problem, lots of lysol, then some febreze, and now it smells nice and fresh , well, if you like that febrezey smell.
  18. here's a pretty cool pic of the GL on a trail on my friend's property
  19. I have two of them!!! I would say avoid the 3AT though, those gear ratios make it very uncomfortable (and hard on the tranny) at freeway speeds. but the GL (same thing + some luxury items) is awsome. Yea, both of mine leak some oil, the loyale leaks it onto the cat and smokes/smells funny, the GL doesn't have a cat. But 230k isn't too bad. Oh yea, RUST, this can be/usually is the end for these subies , look in the wheelwells, and get down on your hands and knees and look underneath, stick your fingers in it, make sure it's not completely rotton. good luck, and I think you'll love it! -chux
  20. Well, She's not available that weekend, so basically my only hope is that i can convince them when I'm in town the 9th-10th to let me take it up with me, then I'd just have to change the oil and get some tires, and I'm in. OR, if we can figure out a way for me to get joe's xt6 , though if that does work out, I'll probably be parking it and riding with you guys.
  21. It's not my subie I'm worried about, if it was here, I'd be along for sure, but I'm here, and it's in the cities. But, a friend may be coming up to visit that weekend, she drives an Aztek but I doubt she'd like to take it offroad at all, I've tried but she's still got payments, anyway, maybe we could meet you. I'll talk to her tonight, in the meantime, cross your fingers!
  22. Well, I'm available that weekend, the only trouble is a car, hmmmmm, I wonder how I might get there? *cough* xt6 *cough*
