Just thinkin"
I was thinking...could it be done and would it work?.......... Could you take the control arms, cv axles and hub assembly off of a Loyale/EA82 and fit them onto EA81 vehicle? If it would work, it would widen the front end a little which the EA81's definitely need, and would help fix any camber issue. And you could use the better cv axle!! I wasn't sure if this had been addressed before and or if anyone had attempted it. But It would be pretty cool! Thanks -Jason

Man it would suck if the guy on the four wheeler dumped it!- burnt oil smell?
bratman18 replied to crockettbrat's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI have always just unbolted the tc from the flex plate before pulling the motor. Yes it is a pain in the butt sometimes to get to the four tc bolts but I personally think its worth it so you don't have to worry about the hassle of re-seating the tc. If you are going to completely reseal the engine anyway than you can pull the whole intake assembly before hand and then the tc bolts are easy to get to. Thats just my opinion:)- Widening the spare?
I used to run the 2 wheel drive spares. They are 14" wheels. I ran them on 2 of my Loyales that I had lifted. They worked great on and off road. I beat the crap out of them and besides the bead getting a little bent they held up great! I ran them and I had a couple friends who ran them as well. Never had any problems and like I said....they were tested! I ran them for several years and took lots of long road trips with them as well. At the time I didn't have Puegot wheels and couldn't find any so that was the only option in getting a bigger tire!- Old Gen. Subaru Guard Dog
Here are a couple pics of my dog. She is like my first born, had her since she was born and never leaves my side! And she's the proud mother of ten puppies! This one is my sister with my dog on my wheeler.- CV axle not fitting correctly
bratman18 replied to simpreza2's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXCongrats! Did you notice how much beefier the Max Drive axle was? You should have good luck with it! Glad you finally got it!- Headlight dilema.
I'm not sure if this is your problem or not but I have seen quite a few of the actual switches go bad on these style cars...EA81. But it could ba any of the things you listed.- Pics of power steering on SPFI conversion
From what I've heard yes but this part welded up just fine and has weakened yet! But yeah Good luck with it and if you have any more questions I will do my best to answer them!- Pics of power steering on SPFI conversion
Yes I had to cut and reweld both mounts....front and rear. The front one is cut and then kind of clocked and then welded. The rear I can't exactly remember but I think I just did it so it would fit! This is a pic of the front mount...- CV axle not fitting correctly
bratman18 replied to simpreza2's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXYeah I agree with not going off what aftermarket says but I have interchanged subaru axles between the two tranny's before. I never noticed a difference. I would be interested to see what subaru says are the actual differences are.- Had to share my ride
Yeah keep searching I know that someone on hear will have a rear disc kit that will fit, just put up a want ad.- CV axle not fitting correctly

Original paint? Where are the Brat decals?- What is this part? and where can i buy a new one?
Well you could probably buy an new one at the dealer maybe or go searching in the junkyards? Or just don't hook it up?- CV axle not fitting correctly
bratman18 replied to simpreza2's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXOk good luck! And let us know what happens! I dunno though I have always installed them by hooking them to the tranny last. I think that you're on the right track, I just think that something is off. Whether it is the axle or the car! So let us know!- Only one wiper working...
Let us know what you find!- Differential

Hows the rest of it coming?!- CV axle not fitting correctly
bratman18 replied to simpreza2's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVX+1 and yes I have personally installed several and used them myself and they are good axles. They are visibly beefier than others and I have never replaced one! And never heard of any going bad.- CV axle not fitting correctly
bratman18 replied to simpreza2's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI say return the axle and get a NEW one. The remanufactured ones are pretty much junk anyway. I would try NAPA. The Max Drive axle that they have is a really good quality and I've never seen one need replacing. I'm not saying thats your problem but you never know and it doesn't hurt!- CV axle not fitting correctly
