how cold is too cold?
I used to park transit buses outside in the winter. One of my jobs was to assign buses to routes and when I put them to bed at night I'd plug the block heaters in. It only affected 8 buses, the rest were indoors overnight. Anyway, the drivers would get in a hurry when it got cold and take off with the 50 - 75 foot cords still plugged in. I'd find them laser straight and caught under the duals of the bus next to it. Well, once in a while it'd come out of the outdoor outlet and they'd be dragging a 50 - 75 foot cord behind them on their route. That made the best dispatch radio calls ever.

no. IIRC the wagon wheel wells are farther back, so the bench and backrest are both wider and not notched to fit around the wells like the RX/RS seat he wanted the split back, which I think I had in my 1985 DL, but that was the sedan not the '3 door coupe' - I just don't remember the wheel well location in that but the RS and RX are hard to find, (despite claims to the contrary) a 3 door coupe like the one that Subaruguru cut up for his 'ea82 brat' project might be slightly easier to find you might ask him what he did with his back seat- SPFI "cold" weather won't start - now running
I got lost after 'Jacinta is running' then something something pdq zistor in a case with stuff makes magic thingys happen and it runs- RX Rear Seatbacks
The Loyale RS has the same, the GL/DL coupe should also be the same if I'm not mistaken. But they're all cooked by now. Rather than hunt down new ones I was going to have mine recovered, they are also sun fried and crispy from that big rear window. In AZ it might be a good idea to have that ginormous greenhouse window tinted. Put up some before and after pics, I'd like to see how yours turn out if you get them recovered. *** edit *** There's a place outside of Sierra Vista that re-did my motorcycle saddle, they did an awesome job - that isn't that far from you, but I'm sure there is someone in Tuscon that would give you a quote, it may not be as bad as you think.- Throw out bearing retaining clips
LMAO just make sure that it is secure and can't in any conceivable way interfere with normal operation...- Lifted EA82 (Red) in Corvallis, Or

my bad was off in my own la-la land again, I'll go back to my Fischer Price mobile in the corner- Throw out bearing retaining clips
I safety wired mine with .032*, the pigtails out of the way - the clips are cheesy to begin with (*.032" stainless steel safety wire)- 83 Brat Heat questions.
this is slightly related to some grief I'm having right now before you go through hoops, didn't look at your winter location but... cut up a garden hose and clamp it to both sides of the core and flush the crap out of it and see if that helps I think that is worth a try and beats the hell out of working under the dash- defrost/fan stopped working
^^^ exactly without knowing a darn thing about the brat, see if power is at the fan, pull the resistor block it's odd that all three of them would have broken at once, but they are pretty fragile when they get old- defrost/fan stopped working

I used one of those kits and it worked well. ($.02)- Subaru Meet in the Seattle area?

I hope your car is okay, this thread has given me a lot of good (beginner) advice and the motivation to at least TRY to do something about my rust. Hope your situation turns out okay.- Fried Alternator wit smoked Radio

what if there is just no pavement in your town? am I 'off roading' to get to the post office? I kid, we have some pavement... Main Street is paved... I do about 40 miles of gravel a day though, hence the deer strike on my non soob- Swinging Steering
that sux... 2nd the motion on 'pricks'- My 'commute' is getitng interesting
yes, I have 8 new winter tires socked away, 4 Blizzaks (205 70-15), and 4 Hankook (195 65-15) studded curiously, I posted this in OT, not 'off road' - thats the road I use to get to the grocery store - so I don't put my self in the same league as some of the accomplished off-roaders here, ya' know I don't consider muddy dirt roads and gravel roads to be the same as making your own trail, and finding the limits of your suspension articulation I just liked the pic, and the way the mud framed the 'RS' badge but 'off road' it is- My 'commute' is getitng interesting

take the right rear 'strut' off, it's pretty easy to do - just jack it up and pull the tire out of your way, two strut bolts up top, one on the bottom although it may look fine, I bet if you push down on it when you have it out; it has little resistance to being compressed or extending, it doesn't take a ton of force, but if it moves fairly easily then its toast it could be bent, dented or punctured, have blown seals etc - at any rate it won't take but a few minutes to check this out and rule it out or in of course, if the bottom half falls on the ground while the top is still attached, thats a good clue too * * we won't talk about that- Swinging Steering
I agree with bheinen, I had a non-soob that seemed to have a hammock for a rear suspension... found one shock was doing all the work for both, made it 'teeter' it's butt in the corners - very weird to describe check your right rear strut, you may be pivoting off the left side because the right isn't doing its job- Sealed wheel bearing question
yes, thanks - that was it, despite my confusion over the alphabet great post with the charts, reminds me of an aircraft structural repair manual (SRM) or maintenance manual (MM) - RX Rear Seatbacks
