  1. i got the sedan. the little wire that connects the latch to the lock sticks in the unlocked position when you open the trunk, i just have to give i little tug and it latches fine.
  2. i never leave that much of a body in one peice. turned out to be a sticky latch, gotta pull on the little wire that runs to the lock to get it to close. i kinda forgot that this thread existed.
  3. also, check the seals around the tail lights.
  4. you should get the engine rebuilt, maybe get it worked over a little bit while its out. if you end up doing an engine swap, you should look into something a bit better than the 2.2, maybe wrx swap or the like. just my opinion, you get all the turbo badging on the car, might as well have aturbo to back it.
  5. hmmmm, i wonder if there is any way to visually tell them apart.
  6. my guess is that the rings might be worn out, but thats just from my experiance. stick with the car, it will get better, well, maybe after a few $.
  7. check out the game tokyo extreme racer 3, they put the xt turbo in it and have all sorts of body kits in it.
  8. i hear that, thats why im slowlly making mine black, especially now that ive decided to keep it, again.
  9. look for performance pars fpr the impreza 2.5rs... its the same engine and drivetrain. aftermarket turbo is a bad idea on a n/a engine. they do make kits for it though, but i havnet seen one last more than a couple months with out doing an impression of a granade. well, maybe not quite that bad. but it wanst good.look into getting exhaust and intake mods. here is a site that sells stuff for all the lines the outback, if you have the real one, is basically a beefed up legacy. just check out that site, even if you dont use them, its a starting point. http://www.rallitek.com/catalog.asp?VEH_ID=6 hmmm, looking at the turbo kit they sell there, it might be doable, but i would still be leary of it. peace tim c.
  10. they redesigned the heads for better coolant flow in the phase II heads. that and the phase one cars, after being fixed, they generally use better parts to fix it, thus preventing the issues from returning. atleast, thats what they did at the shop i worked for.
  11. if left in 2wd, which is for towing purposes, it will eventually fry the solinoid that controls the center diff and make the car fwd for good. i dont reccomend driving far with it like that. there are a few that have done it and not had any issues, but it is more likely to burn out. putting the fuse in puts the solinoid into 100% or somthing like that, basically turnes on the center diff all the way an disconeects the rear out put from the tranny. something like that anyways.
  12. sweet deal, you finally got em. im feeling a rx meet this summer. i should be getting mine back on the road soon as i get a new job. just gotta find a new radiator for it and i should be set.
  13. yup, radiators.com is the only place i found one for my car. radiators.com is the supplioer for advanced auto parts, at least thats what they told me last night.
  14. waste of money. looks like it will cause a reduction of power rather than an improvement.
  15. id just have her take my to wendy's for lunch and a frosty. i wouldnt feel right taking her money.
  16. its not that its heavier, granted that does make a difference, its that the struts mount about an inch and a half higher in the body of the newer imprezas. i compared both sets of struts side by side and the newer units were noticable longer.
  17. it WILL lift your car about 1.5-2". i put in 2004 wrx suspension all the way around my car and got lifted but stiffer suspension. i reccomend looking into like ver5 sti parts that will fit right, either that or keeping your stuts and using the newer springs. with the springs from the newer cars, you will get a much stiffer ride than stock due to the fact that the newer body styles weigh in about 400 pounds more than the gc style cars.
  18. i like my room, wrc team colors, metalic blue walls with yellow trim and molding:grin: . also, i got a top mount intercooler on the shelf around my room as well as a pretty red and black spyder manifold. thats just whatyou notice at first. my bed is on jack stands, there are more ea82 parts in here than in the rx, and there are more models of imprezas than at the suby dealer. on top of all that, i have a poster or lance armstrong that is all metalic looking, oohhh, what now yo!! hey will, i like the tail lights on the shelf, nice touch.
  19. when you tall me that its in good mechanical condition and instead, its unsafe to even drive around the block, i think there will be issues. the shifter was so so sloppy that i couldnt even get it into third, and he says thats my fault?!? i dont know what cars he's been driving around, but ive never seen a mid 80's suby that was so sloppy that it felt like it was falling apart. and for the record, i can drive a stick and have been doing so for years.
  20. we will see how things got when we all get together. i should be there this afternoon.
  21. i think that issue is behind me now. now i just need to get up there and talk it over with paul and set up what we are going to do. cant wait, i should probably get to bed then.
  22. well, i will hopefully be seeing everyone today, i hope. paul, ill give you a call in the morning before we roll out.
  23. moosens, thank you for everything, i hope to finally meet you today. my friend is down for driving me up there, so thats not an issue. i guess ill be seeing everyone when i get there. thanks everyone for your moral support.
  24. i still think i need a miracle to be able to get it. but if i can get tags on it and a battery, ill be able to get it home. the hard part will be coming up with the green for it. unemployment is a pain. i might still be able to pull a few strings before tomarrow though. if anyone would like to make a donation on the other hand, i would be greatful and be happy to return the favor as soon as i can.... i hope to see you all tomarrow, which if i do, means that i found a way to get the brat. my friend doesnt want to go up there if i cant get the brat and im not sure if id be willing to take the impreza on a long trip right now. hope to see you all tomarrow peace tim
