  1. I had the same problem recently. I used CRC "Freeze-Off" penetrant, and then a torch to heat it up, while tapping on it with a wrench. Good luck.
  2. Ask this dude: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showpost.php?p=905356&postcount=21
  3. I need to do a p/s front axle on my 2002 Impreza. Searching Rock Auto, there is this interchange chart: SUBARU BAJA (2003 - 2004) SUBARU BAJA SPORT (2005 - 2006) SUBARU FORESTER (2000 - 2002) SUBARU IMPREZA OUTBACK (2000 - 2004) SUBARU IMPREZA RS (2000 - 2001) SUBARU IMPREZA TS (2002 - 2004) SUBARU IMPREZA WRX (2002 - 2004) SUBARU LEGACY (2000 - 2004) SUBARU OUTBACK (2000 - 2004) Anyone know how accurate it is? Any differences between axles for m/t a/t?
  4. Are you hitting it from the right side? +1 on the right sized punch too. B'laster.
  5. From the USRM: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=49952
  6. I think I paid $10 or $12 for a gallon. Silicate free. http://www.valvoline.com/products/brands/zerex/antifreeze/105
  7. I remember when I wired my Hellas, the wiring diagram showed a way to wire them into the high beams. This should help: http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k180/corwyyn/stuff/hella-wiring.jpg http://www.roversnorth.com/web/downloads/instructions/hella/hella-500-wiring-diagram.jpg
  8. Automatic or manual? In case you are buying an aftermarket knob, manual is M12x1.25, automatic is M10x1.25.
  9. Back from the dead. Anyone have any pictures of the EA82 skidplate on the bottom of a GC Impreza? Mine is GD. I'm not looking to do any off-roading with my Impreza, I just want protection from road debris and bad Portland roads.
  10. I know, I know, this thread is four years old. Has anyone else done this, and have some photos they'd like to share?
  11. +1. Most state lemon laws specify that a manufacturer must provide a refund or replacement for a defective new vehicle when a substantial defect cannot be fixed in four attempts, a safety defect within two attempts or if the vehicle is out of service for 30 days within the first 12,000 to 18,000 miles or 12 to 24 months. 13. Yes, there is a way to attach a hose. Go outside, look under your hood, then drive down to the hardware store, and use your imagination - pvc pipe, dryer ducting, shop vac hose, aluminum tube, just about anything will work. That, or stop being so lazy, and find a way around the water rather than driving through it.
  14. +1. Clicking and grinding right out of the box. But if you must, Discount Import in Portland/Beaverton has them.
  15. What? My 1980 Wagon ran great on 87 from Chevron. 80 is the year, 87 is the octane. Now, I also had a 1987 wagon that was converted to SPFI, and it ran great on 87 octane as well. Either the Chevron gas I use has magical powers, or Portland gets all the good gas and sends the dregs to Salem. I've never heard of Arco putting gas in water, until you mentioned it. Seems they might: http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/arco-gas-c210316.html I can see from your rant that you are an expert on carbureted vehicles and what octane makes them run best, and you have over 10 people to back up your theories. I am truly impressed.
  16. LOL at top tier 87 all you want. My 1980 Wagon ran great on 87 from Chevron. Good thing I didn't have an owner's manual, or I would have wasted a lot of money on 92.
  17. Ballistic? I think I see a skull. You need to put a beer can next to see people can get a better idea of the size.
  18. Where are you getting this "free" gas from? Nothing is free, and putting crap through your engine can cost you more money down the road. Best EA71 mods for someone on a budget - full tank of top tier 87, fresh fuel filter, oil change with some Valvoline high mileage 10w30 and an OEM quality oil filter.
  19. I just sold a Toyota 22R Carb that had a "Remanufactured by Holley" sticker on it. I saw an article in Hot Rod a while ago about Holley rebuilding carbs in-house, but I never thought they would touch an asian Aisan!
  20. Finally, an answer to the question on everyone's mind - how big a tire can I fit on my Brat without lifting it?
  21. I love my Fumoto! Do the hose clamp mod to keep the lever in place, or just get a skidplate.
  22. Hmmmm. Considering buying a CCR shortblock. I'd like to know the outcome, before I spend any money.
