  1. I don't know much about them, but I'd love to find a wiring diagram for mine so I can set it up correctly.
  2. My hatch does that sometimes when it sits outside for a few days of inclement weather. The clutch gets wet and the pressure plate sticks. Usually it goes away after things dry out.
  3. Love those "sticker wagons" guys. How is everyone running the wiring when mounting lights on the roof?
  4. Very cool, I love the scenery. Looks like you had the whole are to yourselves.
  5. Yeah, the front struts are cranked almost all the way up. The camber issue isn't that bad at all compared to my other lifted rig. Shady, looking forward to pics of your latest skidplate revision. If my consulting check shows up on time, I might be able to get on board with the group buy.
  6. The wheels and 3" lift kit came from the AA Group Buys. The tires are Super Swamper TSL Radials 215/85/15 The biggest problem I'm having with a skid plate is making something that'll reach that custom bumper. :-\
  7. A little exposed is definitely an understatement. Not sure what I'm going to do to fix that problem yet.
  8. Actually, my wagons tend to be a little more loose than my hatch is.
  9. I was gone all weekend but I did snap a couple before it started to ice over last night. More daylights pics later. I still have a little trimming and electrical work to do before it's ready to hit the road.
  10. You might look into converting it to divx, as I'm guessing it just a raw avi right now. Also 7-Zip is much more efficient at compressing files. If I had a different way to get the file from you(too big to email) I'd convert it for you.
  11. Wow, yeah that's pretty hefty. What format is it? I bet you could shrink it down with the proper codecs.
  12. I've got bandwidth to burn, how big is it? You can try sending it to getbent(at)twistednipple.com
  13. Yup, what he said. There were also some factory guards, but they are hard to come by anymore. I'm just south of you a little ways, there's plenty of trails in and around my area to go out and try. I'm just waiting for my latest project to be complete before I head out again.
  14. That works too, and is much quicker. I usually don't do it because of the domain name I host my pics from.
  15. There was someone on the board from Montana(I think) that had their Hatch stolen and rolled a while back. I think he's got some "after" pics of it.
  16. This shows what I'm talking about: I clicked the Insert as Image button to paste the image above. To put a link to your pic you need to highlight some message text (ie.."here's my pic") and then click the Insert Link button. It'll ask you for the URL to your image. Afterwards the text you selected will show your pic when you click it. Just Like This
  17. If we're looking to save bandwidth, but still allow other forum users see the pics, just don't embed them in your post. Instead, display them as a clickable url. For anyone who doesn't know what I mean, use 'insert link' instead of 'insert image' when posting your pics.
  18. That's not a pic of a Gen 1. I don't usually get pics when I take my cars out, at least not until I get stuck. http://www.twistednipple.com/cars/MudHatch/85HatchInTheMud4.jpg http://www.twistednipple.com/cars/MudHatch/85HatchInTheMud3.jpg
  19. Will get pics once I get a break in the weather. Oh, and the kicker check arrived this weekend. Looks like I might have money for a skidplate now.
  20. Ok, I managed to get a couple hours to finish up my install. The instructions for the rear part of the kit are incredibly vague. There was actually no mention of the 4 blocks that install under the torsion bar. The addition of the new rubber brake lines was definitely necessary, and they were of a very good quality. All in all, it was a pretty painless install. It just took some educated guessing as to where things went. Now I just have to wait for my tires to arrive. Any guess as to when the refund checks will be mailed?
  21. This is a good point some people with a crooked wheels may be overlooking. On all the Subarus I've worked on there was a single bolt holding the wheel on, didn't need to use a puller to remove it.
  22. I spent a few hours on my lift install today. I'm probably 90% of the way done on the front and have a few thoughts. The components of this kit are ten times better than the last kit I installed, much better welds and quality. However, the instructions are very lacking. If I hadn't done an install once before I'd be totally flustered by now. They state that the strut blocks are marked left and right, but they weren't. They only fit one way, so that wasn't a big issue. The bigger problem, and this happened on the last kit too, is that the strut hit against the body and won't bolt back up without some "gentle" hammering. There used to be pics of this in the repair section. For everyone else doing their install, remember to unbolt your pitch stopper first and remove the front brake lines from the brackets on your struts. I also had to unhook a number of wires from the engine that wouldn't stretch far enough while putting the blocks in. I also recommend putting the new steering shaft in first as it is probably the hardest part of the whole install. My steering wheel lines up perfect, but if yours doesn't try turning your wheel until the shaft rolls over 180 degrees. That's it for now. More as I progress.
  23. I looked at the Super Sports before settling on some Super Swampers. They're a rebranded Cooper Discoverer. It's a decent price, but came out equal to the price I was quoted for my Swampers.
