  1. Sounds a lot like what my turbowagon did when the turbo started going bad on it.
  2. Yeah, that's a major repost. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=21784&highlight=snowplow
  3. I love Jethro Tull, but have never heard of that song. Thanks for pointing it out.
  4. I've talked to PK about replacing missing/lost pieces in the past and he wasn't willing to sell individual pieces. You'd be better off just finding someone near you who can fab up a replacement part.
  5. I wish I had brought a camera to get pics of all the looks and waves we received bring it home. It's in my yard right now and the UPS guy couldn't stop laughing when he saw it yesterday. Now I just need to get some time to look it over. Let me know if the GLF needs any parts. I have a couple pretty complete ea81 parts cars still and I can bring stuff down when I come to look at your Brat.
  6. The 80 & 81 brochures mention the GLF but I see nothing from 82 and on. Looks like the GL-10 replaced the GLF as the high end model somewhere between 83-84. Don't quote me on this though, the text is a little difficult to read. EDIT: Upon further reading, it looks like it was also available in '82.
  7. My zip is 98533, but I can pick up my wheels depending on the cost to ship them. So, without WJM buying the second set we're below the 20 needed to make them $275? That part is still a little hazy to me.
  8. Cool, they're about 15 min. down the road from me.
  9. Your XT eats what for breakast, lunch & dinner? I love that Hatch, how does it like turning those 35s?
  10. Excellent, I'm glad to hear there's been that much interest.
  11. Pfft, that'll buff right out. Seriously though, you know we all have great respect for that car, it's a shame for it to end like that. Glad you two are both ok though. Oversteer is what ended up getting my WRX wrecked.
  12. That's a change for 2005, all previous years were called the TS. I think it's better this way, less confusing for people that are new to the product line.
  13. For anyone who hasn't seen it, this is what the 2006 Forester will look like:
  14. If you think that a turbo jetta felt like it had more power than a WRX then there was something wrong with the WRX you test drove. As far as I've read, all 2005 Subarus have side impact airbags. However, you should know that insurance companies don't give you any significant breaks for having them. I save 3 dollars every six months. FYI: All of Subaru's Turbo cars take premium. And they're all rated at about the same milage. Sounds to me like you should stick with something that has a NA 2.5 in it.
  15. I've driven an Impreza with the plain NA 2.5l motor in it. I was incredibly under-impressed by it. For me, the gains in gas mileage and insurance(there was barely any savings) were not worth the loss in performance. If you're into wagons then I second the comment about looking at the Forester 2.5XT or wait until the 2006 models show up. The WRX will be using the 2.5 turbo by then. "beat it so it runs fast"? Not on either of my cars.
  16. I have wheels off a 84 wagon on my 78 brat so I know the bolt pattern matches. I can't help you with the backspacing though.
  17. Well said Andy, I couldn't have put it better myself. I'm glad to see that you're taking the parts suggestions we all gave you and running with it. Myself, I'd need something a bit beefier.
  18. Heh, we were standing next to Jamie when she was taking those pics. Just noticed my Dad is in the background of one of them. And as an update to what I've said before, the B9 is still hideous.
  19. Ok I'm in for a set of black wheels. I would like to see them in white though if you have a set you can post pics of.
  20. If you're looking for a mule to use for fabbing up a lift kit for a gen1 brat. I have a '78 that you can have. It's too far gone to be usefull for anything else, but the suspension is all there. Just a thought.
  21. I'm interested in this and will keep and eye on this thread. I want to get a bit of an idea how many people may jump on board before I commit any $$$.
