  1. Aluminum oxide, I think I'll try to find the site again.
  2. Not as noisy as the bias, but still too loud IMO.
  3. I was wonderin' about that. Awesome #'s garner, no doubt you'll be WELL above 200 hun. with 14 psi!
  4. a quick search turned up 100 bucks for the diy kit.
  5. I'll have to reread this again a few times but at first glance it looks really good.
  6. The vast majority of developed countries are with the US as the most glaring exception. Iceland's per capita carbon output is on par with other cold low pop. countries. The worst offender is Canada per capita.
  7. Has 2 timing belts, look for blue smoke out the back under high rev's in neutral, whitish/biege gunk on the inside of the oil cap, and go and buy some radiator litmus test paper to see if hydrocarbons are getting into the coolant[blown or leaking head gasket]. Drive it hard too.
  8. Yeah that's Bill Potts place, Saltair, in Chemainus I think, I've been there a few times slim pickin's right now. We have a Buy and Sell auto classifieds on the island that's got about 12 subes for sale in it right now, mostly 85-90's spfi's around 1200 obo. If you're coming out then I'd buy one once you hit the island in any gas staion or convenience store. Always alot to choose from although not as many turbo ru's in there these days:-\.
  9. Hey welcome! always good to see another Canuck. By one in BC for sure, I've bought many cheap wagon's on the island. The twagon in my sig I found with a blown auto trannie for 800 bucks [and I was going to ditch the trannie anyways] no rust and a solid motor with all the GL-10 goodies too . Alot of bargains to be found out here.
  10. I think if you want to do it then all the best to ya. Please post your findings.
  11. There's also Nuke reactors that are really efficient and produce hydrogen as a byproduct of cooling, I love nukes we need more. Iceland is unique in the sense that it has so much geothermal energy so easily accessed, Alaska BC and Washington too have good access. The energy consumed to produce a nation's worth of cars that run on hydrogen will cause as much harm as staying with what we have [for now]. My friend Mike is an engineer at Ballard and he's very skeptical his opinion is that if anyone benefits from hydrogen it'll be the big oil boys. Water engine?, so far I can only find ones that use a catalyst for seperating hydrogen and the best [i've found so far] is a motorcycle that consumes 4 kilo's of aluminum per 500km of travel. I'm not trying to be negative, I want to leave the dino juice in the ground too.
  12. Yeah hydrogen's not going to help anyone other than those hyping it. And as far as the energy used to produce it, 10,000 volts @ 1 amp is the same as 10,000 amps @ 1 volt, ie it still takes X wattage[power] to produce and you get less energy than u put in. Water injection into turbo's works great to reduce detonation but a motor running on water? I'm going to google this...
  13. Definately, the best way to go IMO is to have better header coupled to a ball bearing turbo. Fast spool ups and higher effiency.
  14. No if it is it'll say LSD on the sticker, and if you go with a 4" lift kit there will be some axle strain but not much, 3" no additional strain.
  15. ditch the gutted cat, it's still too restrictive.
  16. That's what I thought too but that wasn't the case, i phoned them back to be sure.
  17. I need 2 header gaskets and 2 inlet/outlet turbo gaskets, so off to the local suby dealership... the girl at the counter says it'll be $149.34 cdn for 2 header gaskets and another $50 for the turbo gaskets:eek:. I was shocked to say the least, the suby dealers 60miles away want $75 for all of them. I'm going with the dealership down island but whats a "reasonable" price to pay for these? I will most likely order another set to avoid any future extortion.
  18. I was thinking he'd have 2" from the turbo back but after reading it again I see he means the second cat. A good improvement would be to use a quality boost controller. Even if you use stock boost the turbo will still spool faster because the wastegate is not open until the controller actuates it.
  19. Maybe 10-20hp, mpg would improve slightly, cooler? i don't think so. A 5 spd trannie would be a good improvement if you want more power to the ground.
  20. Yes, but it's a hassle, splitting the block's not too bad... I'd split the block it might take longer in the end but it'll be less of a headache. There's a thread out there about doing it without splitting somewhere...
  21. I redline mine everyday and have for a year and half. It likes it that way:lol:
