  1. I'm in Lancaster county....but I will be in Meadville for dinner tonight....Does that count I too am a steelers fan. Hey Los: are you a Pitt student? Matt
  2. if need be do a 2.2 conversion and scrap the 2.5 alltogether.... Sell a 'yota or 2 to fund the project... Matt
  3. The price is too high. I was quoted by a local subaru mechanic (independant) $1200 and by my local dealer (subaru) $1600-1700. Don't sell the car....just find someone else to fix it and keep on going.... Matt
  4. I totally feel the same way and could not have said it better. Hope you are well Laura....time heals all wounds.... One less gen 1 in the world... :banghead: :banghead: Matt
  5. Your wrong....You can do it and make it last...the guy on here known as "subaru brat" had one on an RS and it went over 100k before he sold the car (he traded up to an STI). If you want to do it to tow....that in my opinion is another story. I don't care what anyone says....towing with a trubo is a bad idea. Matt
  6. When I had my 02 legacy OB it said AWP on my ins. policy. The car was stated: 02 Subaru Outback AWP so I didn't know what that meant so I figured it was "all weather package" maybe indicating that my car had the heated seats and all that crap (which it did). don't know to be honest but....there is my shot in the dark. Matt
  7. Lucas has nothing to do with your clutch slipping or not. The clutch is a dry plate (or darn well better be) and the oil hopefully will never touch it (if it does you have other issues). As for slipping and not slipping....lucky you...keep driving and when it gets worse then replace it. save your money and run it till it really slips. Matt
  8. I think this is what you are talking about....sound like a sweet car to me if it is still available. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=28889&highlight=outback Matt
  9. Drive it first!!!!! Look for half a$$ed repair in spots where it was fixed and ask if they have "before" pics of the car. I personally would do it if I was looking for a WRX (and was watching ebay myself at one time for a WRX wagon). Lastly look to see if it has an aftermarket BOV (blow off valve)...this will indicate that most likely a kid owned the car and beat on it. Just remember that the resale value is severely reduced with a repaired car but if you are planning on keeping it so what. Matt
  10. sport wagons are cool!!! nice ride and happy motoring...Im sure you'll like it. Matt
  11. Sell that tranny to the dude who wanted to buy it for $500....then you have a $50 parts car or fix it up and sell it....or what the heck fix up both and sell them and get a really nice car for the wife (they seem to like that). Matt
  12. If you have an idea when you are going to the dyno please let me know.....I would love to see this and maybe make a few pulls in my OBS for sh%$s and giggles. I'm about 30-45 min away from them.... Matt PS: Good work as always kevin.....
  13. know what really sucks.....I want an xt-6 (and here is 3 of them) and I even have a rollback i could use to get them....but I have no place to put them untill I could part them out/make a good one.... double farts. Matt
  14. Something seemed strange to me too with that brat.... Lancaster Co. REPRESENT!!! (sorry had to do it) If anyone wants a brat from this area....talk to benebob about his grey brat that I would own if I would't have bought a new car last month.... Matt
  15. Kevin: When I was in NC back in Nov. WJM stopped by the motel to see me and the wife. He was driving his Rx with a c-bomb on the back. I believe my exact comment to him was "that sounds f'n sweet. Wow that sounds f'n good" If the guy at autozone doesn't want you to buy it....go to another store. Screw them. BTW, I thought c-bombs were like $15. Do it damn it.... Matt
  16. here is where I am at on this. I can do either the 5th or the 12th but not both. I am working the following weekend and I am going away the weekend after that. Did you and Mrs Moosens find a place??? are you and her going to need help moving? Let us know and I am sure my other fellow pennsylvanians could help.... Matt
  17. When is this gala event???? I really really want to see the car. Matt
  18. RE idea #2: I see a need for a 4th position. "normal" for those times when you are on a wet/rain covered surface. I totally like the idea though....and I might even be inclined to buy an automatic one day if I had a gizmo like this available..... As always Skip....you mind is always think huh? Matt
  19. Welcome and congrats on the new car....What color is yours???? Mine is Green. Note the signature at the bottem. Matt
  20. I think this is a great idea. Are the pulleys the same for an xt6? I believe that the EA-82 is a great motor and its fullest potential has not been reached yet. I have a plan on the back burner for a screaming xt machine....I am leaning toward a 6 but if this has good potential I might go the ea-82 route (unless these would work on an xt6) I think an even $200 is a very fair price and $50 core (total of $250 if you don't have core) I believe that time is money so if you are going to do it you might as well make it worth your time...... Matt
  21. My advise for when Qman isn't around..... a winch or a really good come-a-long.....and get rid of the open diff would ya... Did I miss something about this car....whose was it? envious in PA, Matt
  22. Mudrat: where in PA is this person from....there are a few of us here in the snowy state of PA..... As for a club....I wish. Post: I didn't get out in it yet.... yet the key word here. I want to try out the new one....see how it does without a LSD in the rear....might be change to that issue in the summer though. Matt PS: all my fellow Pennsylvanians....cheer on your local football teams on sunday....Lets have a Pennsylvania superbowl.
