1. ah..ok, good learning experience, pita though. I'll see how this goes...wiring is definately not my strong point
2. Leave transaxle, easiest to remove engine...and you can move engine forward to service disc, but you may want to consider servicing gaskets and seals etc.
3. sweden huh, cool. I'm thinking that 5 can be plugged. I think you have an additional vaccum nipple that my 3 cars do not ( thus a better picture ) heres a pic of how my ea82t's are set up for vac lines. Good luck Mark
4. Thanks Suberdave, My first mod and I consider myself a newb. I found that temp does go thru ecu, plug B48 term 7, must be for cooling fan switching, but I believe its gauge wiring im chasing. Thanks again, all input appreciated.
5. Thanks !!!! Your awesome..sending e-mail Mark
6. Sounds like a new conversion to be documented. How 'bout retro fitting a squirt system incorporated into the wiper blades.....as some suv's use on the rear windows.
7. For the sh*** and giggles what year, model and where are you? How bout a good pic of the intake set up. Mark
8. Ok, based on my '89 rx here is what I would try...but first I cant tell you what #5 is in the second picture. Does not show up in my '89 fsms, could be import or something we havnt seen much of. #1 and #3 join with a tee and run another hose from that tee to #4(I have a slightly diff set up,1/3 teed hose hits canister first before #4) see pic #2 goes to #7 with a check valve seperating them ( 2 different diameter hoses) #6 goes into your intake boot once installed. This is what I have on my 89 and 90 turbos, checked my 86, slightly diff from what you have Good luck
9. Hi Guys, I'm getting ready to cut down an ej22 harness from a '90 Legacy. Im using Numbchuxs ea to ej updated guide and having trouble identifying the oil light wire number, must not run it thru the ecu plugs as that info looks very complete. My guess is its identified in another schematic that is not covered in this guide. Can anyone give me a hand on this? Ive check for fsm's on line with little luck also. Thanks, Mark
10. wish I had a shop to keep clean, but I manage with a small carport and a couple out bldgs and fully agree with Zap, everything has to earn its keep, including the westy project that is full of ea parts as I attempt to reduce my subaru fleet to 2 vehic's
11. sweet! and only 450.00. I like the name youve given her, all you need to do now is paint and Turdocharge her Im jealous
12. Nice weather...layed off...started playing with the ej stuff for my 90 wagon that had an ea82t and a 4eat. cleaned and painted up the ej 5 spd and 4.11 rear diff Ill go thru the ej22 after work starts back up, until then Im starting the harness modification ( my first ) with a lot of thanks in advance to Numbchux's ea to ej. Cheers, Mark
13. Its been a few years since ive seen these but there is or was a company selling these for full size domestic 4x4 trucks.
14. I plan on selling ( i'd rather trade for a Brat ) my '89 in the near future. I've just started working on an ej22 conversion in my '90 turbo wagon. I'm for the most part a truck guy and would rather be working on a Brat. daily driver, needs work. Picked up an ej20G for it and have been hunting for an ecu and harness. any interest please let me know.
15. Nothing like 4 studded snows, lsd and a little turbo RX in a bit of snow and ice.
16. Ive had a couple of '79 3/4 ton 2wd's and currently an 84 3/4 ton 2wd. I run lt's on stock 14's no prob, and cherokee and others will bolt up.
17. Crossbred performance has a kit allowing ej brakes to be installed on L's. Jeff in AU
18. Interesting thread. I have my oem preferences on some items. Usually if you stay with a good aftermarket supplier like napa you typically get quality parts and knowledgable people. Knowledge on your part is critical. I tried to pick up subi t-stat gaskets from a large auto parts chain store and was handed a stamped gasket with a peal and stick on one side. I thought "what f###### idiot came up with this?
19. Thanks T, Im not planning to sink big big money into an ea-t, I'll get educated first on total costs and take it from there.
20. Just curious if anyone has recently rebuild their ea82t. I'm checking on 3rd gen heads, read their avail around 250.00 thru subaru and will be checking parts avail and prices on lower end stuff this week. I know these engines arent highly regarded compared to EJ's ( and yes I just stripped a 90 legacy for my own ej22 conversion in one of my L series cars) but I have 3 ea-t powered cars and plenty of engines and parts kicking around.
21. Yep, and I think Holley fixed their back fire and its toast thing years ago:)
