  1. More like thousands of Jeeps! The Easter Jeep Safari is obscenely huge, like every campsite or hotel room in 50 miles is taken huge. But that's prolly the only time to avoid, the Toyota event isn't nearly as big. Well, August is kinda HOT also. I say winter, as you don't have to share with 10,000 of your closest friends and the weather is still awesome. There are a few spots inaccesible in winter, due more to deathmud and rockslides than snow. We HAD another awesome one, best of the day, but Dave managed to erase it from the digi camera.. Edit: I have another one, but Bresnan is being funky and all my server space at skool is used up.... so no host right now.
  2. The video has been de-hosted - To make room for more videos!
  3. Subies don't crawl..... they dance!
  4. We didn't see any trucks all day. Had hoped to showboat a little for the Jeepers. Having the whole mesa to ourselves was a good tradeoff. Like 200 miles I think.... Why is your Ru gonna be in NM sometime? If so you should definetly look us up. Along with the continuing conquest of Moab, we've got some pretty rad trail in here Grand Junction. Moab and GJ have pretty similar geology, and similar terrain.
  5. Oh yeah, they pick spots all over the desert.... They spent all day Mon chasing Subies, and all day Tues chasing bikes. Good Dawgs!
  6. I've done it about a million times by mt bike enroute to The Portal, so while this was the first time we drove it, I already knew the trail like the back of my hand - that helped. Yeah it's ALMOST a 2 hours drive for us. Its a tough life, I know. We aired down a bit to like 20ish. We had no way to fill um up again, so didn't want to let too much out. Besides, with all that rock there's plenty of traction. Seriously, aside from the lifts and tires (and the weber in the hatch) both these cars are pretty much stock. And they OWNED that trail.
  7. They're working they're just excessively large (10, 6, 4, megs respectively) for short clips. Didn't wanna deal with compressing them. Right click, save as....
  8. Werd. Thanks for the extra load bar.
  9. Here are the videos: Dustyrider using the gas-and-go method. Skyward! Tripple Trail is Posion Spider in Moab, UT. The local Jeeper club, the Red Rock Wheelers, rates this as a 4 out of 5 for difficulty.
  10. Yeah, I know I technically already posted my Wagon, but this is before it was lifted so that's kinda like a different car, right? (It only looks lifted here 'cause I leveled it on some big rocks.) Camping ability is a very important component of off-road utility, in my book. Sweet82: Ya know where this is? Also, here's my PartsWagon, which is not on the road and never will be. When it's not keeping the '88 alive, its a jump for my bike. (There's a 2x12" up over the hood) Jumping = Intrinsicly Offroad.
  11. Having just done the 3/3, I would rather have the 4/3. Don't get me wrong, the 3" is excellent, but I could use the extra tire clearance. Even after beating on my fenders it's real close; I don't think I could run chains if I wanted. Then again, I don't need chains anymore! The exta bit of approach angle would be nice too. Plus, I think it'd just look better.
  12. Well.... Its good to know that if my wheels ever fall off, my ball-joint lock nut will save me.
  13. I was just looking at your sig.... your wagon only has 26,000 miles??!
  14. Bah, send it to the wrecker and get a Ford. Just kidding of course. Looks SWEET on chrome rims. So if high-performance stickers are worth 50-60 hp, a dog in the back must mean an extra 10 inches of flex, right?
  15. Yeah anyway... Yer gonna make tube bumpers, huh? I do actaully have an extra d/r.... but I think its spoken for.
  16. Woohooo! More lifted wagons in CO! Dude, you NEED a d/r tranny.
  17. See, four pugs will cost you like $100. While you freind may be able to offer a reasonable price on new customs wheels, I'm sure they'll cost more than that. Tis very cool notion though, and I would like to see it happen.
  18. *cough* The FI wagon didn't have any problems.... Microsoft released some cool add-ons for XP, one of them allows you to resize images by simply rightclicking the file. It usefull ifin you wanna post such images and don't wanna deal with an editor. Can be d/led here, along with other cool stuff like a graphing calculator to replace the standard windows deal. Tweak UI is essential as well.
  19. There was a great Car Talk story about this... Click and Clak worked with a guy with a Econo car, was real proud of his MPG. So the Tom & Ray start putting gas in the tank when the guy isn't looking. His mpg calculation kept going up and up. He thought he was getting 70-80 mpg. After a few weeks of that, they started siphoning gas out when he wasn't paying attention. Talk of his extraordinary mpg stopped abruptly. The Safari Wagon got 27mpg nonstop from CO to VT.
