  1. I wish subaru would sell this model in the US. I come with the H6 and a 6-speed manual gearbox. http://subaru.com.au/explore/liberty/specifications.asp?item=23531
  2. Well let's not go overboard yet. I would double check the clutch cable adjustment first. Let's make sure that you have not overtightend it.
  3. nope, If you need gen1 struts then you need to get them off of another gen1 subaru
  4. I'm guessing that one of those trogan horses on Zap's computer took down their server.
  5. hmmmmm you know I've been needing a good excuse to test out new'ish snow tires I jut got for my Legacy.
  6. I know you have an EA65 but I know that you know a fair amount about the EA63 too.
  7. Subaru stopped using that engine in US models in the mid 70's. Bajavwnsoobnut would be the one to ask if you have questions about it.
  8. Yep, 1400CC Flat-4 if I remember right
  9. They usually sit behind the carb on 2wd models, well I've only seen them on 2wd models anyways. They are not important and were usually tossed out by dealership techs. If I were you I would just store in the circular file cabinet.
  10. Of topic for a sceond. Stupid me, left a green tote under Ed's Canopy. Did anyone here pick it up?
  11. I just got back from picking up a used set of, Nokian Hakkapeliitta 1, studded snow tires; already mounted on Forester wheels. The tires appear to have roughly 90% or more tred left. I pecked them up for only $150
  12. It looks like Murphy's Law has bit me in the butt again. The battery in the GL only reads 0.45 VDC so unless I can gather the bones for a new battery or if the charger can get it up by morning..... i'm out this weekend.
  13. Have you checked yet for the crack that forms in the exhaust port?
  14. You mentioned that you got some spark from the coil. Were you cranking the engine when doing this test or did you hook the coil up to the batter and disconnect it, to make it spark?
  15. I remember when the builder of that buggy would come on the old EZboard asking question in the new-gen forum. He gave us some pretty nice snap shots of his build and testing.
  16. 1. The adjustment is located on the clutch fork. Actually there are 2 adjustments in that location. The upper is your clutch cable the lower is the hill holder. Loosen the hill holder cable a few turns then see if you like it. 2. Well this is a problem with the EA82 engine, the leak oil everywhere. The main problem points are the: camtower o-rings, cam seals, oil pump seal and o-ring, and even the head gaskets even leak oil. Some long time subaru mechanics I know joke about how some of them even leaked on the showroom floor. 3. I hope you bought NKG spark plugs, the gap is 1mm - 1.1mm or .039in - .043in 4. oil pressure tends to be all over the place depending on the engine temp, outside temp, and how well the sending unit / guage are working that day. 5. Well the way those are designed, the cabe can brake but not really come off. At the bottom of the piller there should be a place to access the manual actuator. There maybe a plastic plug in the trim that covers the hole. You can use an allen wrench to turn the pully for the cable. If that dosen't move the cable then you're pretty much SOL and are looking at getting a new auto seatbelt assembly. They are not cheap and are a pain to replace.
  17. Yeah there should be multiple stop points. The lever that controls that is on the bottom of the columb aling the centerline, if I remember right.
  18. Recently I did some compairing between the two. I found that atleast for the 2005 models, the forester had more leg and head room. Also you sit higher in the Forester. As for the towing, they should be the same since both vehicles have the same trivetrain components.
  19. There is one downside to the 3.0 H6 aka EZ30. When the engineers designed it, they had to make it compact enough to stuff it in an engine compartment that was ment for the EJ25. One thing they did was go with a timing chain instead of a timing belt. Now this did buy them about an inch of front to back clearance but they ended up having about a dozen o-rings between the inner timing chain cover and the block. Can you say major oil leak protential. Also they didn't make it easy to replace those o-rings either.
