  1. What you want to do can probably be done. since I have not done this myself I couldn't tell ya exactly where to tap from. My best guess would be that if on a carbed engine you tapped from the intake, you would still tap from the intake. If you tapped from a ported source on a carb, well you sould be able to tap from one of the ports on the throttle base of the throttle body.
  2. i went and bought a set of WRX wheels for my 94 legacy and mounted a set of 205/55/16 tires. No rubbing and now my speedo reads correctly. For some reason it didn't with the stock size tires
  3. Some kind of speed signal should be present at the cruse control brain.
  4. Are you pumping it before you try starting it? You need to pump it a couple of times to set the choke. If that dosen't help, the choke maybe out of adjustment or there there might be another problem. It should idle somewhere between 700 and 900 when warm hmm, could be a tach malfunction, could be a slipping clutch
  5. check the U-joints in the driveline going to the diff.
  6. the closest thing to what you're looking for would be a factory service manual.
  7. To my knowlege the only US Market Subaru with D/R allwheel drive was the SXT(I think that's the right name) which was the prototype of the baja. In some overseas markets you can get D/R AWD but I've notice that fewer models get that optinion. if you want a little proof of their existance check out this spec. sheet for an Australian Forester http://subaru.com.au/explore/forester/specifications.asp?item=23492 as for how the D/R works, it's works the same way as it dose on the early subarus. It's just a set of reduction gears on the inputshaft and as with the Early subarus you can only get it with a manual transmission.
  8. You would need to do a complete Swap, drums, adjusters, hardware, backing plate and cylinder, along with any other parts I may have forgotten to mention.
  9. people have done that with their lifted rigs since a the bigger tires they use won't fit in the regular spare tire spot. Now what's preventing you from placing your spare in the regular carrier? A regular fullsize spare should fit without any problems.
  10. it's subaru's early term for a check engine light.
  11. need more info What kind of transmission is it? manual or auto, 2wd or 4wd
  12. okay, had to copy and paste the link to see the pic. yes that is a d/r 4 speed
  13. if the H6 is like other subarus the fan on the drivers side only turns on when the AC is running.
  14. If there is a rod going from the back by the tail to the front, on what would be the passenger side. then it's dual range. if you can sind a pic, plenty of us here and give you a yes or no.
  15. see what happens when I write a responce when someone is editing theirs. i only saw the part about the tdc and cam sync... my bad oh blue spark is the hotter of the two
  16. just to clarify turbone's stament/question... are you saying that when the cams are in sync, are you also say that your #1 cylinder is at tdc? i.e. when #1 is at Tdc is one cam mark is at 0* and the other at 180*? if that is the case, that's not how it works.
  17. you guys are forgetting something. the ea82t and Ea82 Carb use the same cam, well atleast they do for 85-86
