EA82 highway v.s. secondary road water temps.
I've gotten two radiators on ebay for >$50. SHIPPED. No problems with either one. Sidenote: Are you guys saying the auto tranny cars all came with two-row radiators?

looks like spec is offering a performance ea82/er27 clutch lineup...
Just out of curiosity, what exactly type of differences would you expect/feel between those different clutches? I mean..it's not like the ea82 has enough power to make a fully engaged clutch of any type slip...is it longevity?

What Have You Done to your Soobie lately? (Please post in here and keep it going)
Because you like sedans so much ;Got my new CV axle in today. Found out my brake caliper is shot. Ordered one that I'll be throwing in tomorrow. Before I installed the axle I took the boots off and packed some extra grease in there. Reinstalled the boots with clamps. So far so good! My old axle was completely shot, to the point where I had to pull away from red lights with a feather weight of pedal to avoid any clicking. Unavoidable clicking making a slight left turn. HORRIBLE clicking at full lock; yeah, it was about to go. It's so nice to be able to mash the gash again! Going up hills, making a turn across an intersection. So great. So tomorrow the caliper goes in. Hopefully the stuck brake didn't toast my grease as after a test drive the whole hub was water sizzling hot =\

Is the Forester the right car for me?
l75eya replied to Roach131313's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXhttp://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/138331-87-gl-wagon-4x4-100-rust-free/ Saw that you were looking at late 80's Suzukis and the like and thought I'd throw out a bone for the old gen subarus. In 5 speed form you get dual range 4 wheel drive with high and low. For when you're on the highway you get to throw it in front wheel drive and, with sensible driving, can attain 30 - 35ish mpg on the highway.

my free 92 sedan.
Did you drive it around much after the reseal? Took a bit of ..."exercise"...after my various re-seals for the tick to stop. Funny yours stopped after sitting! My cars tend to do the opposite =P

Whats it worth (1990 Turbo 4WD wagon)
Yeah, you asked for what we think it's worth, not an argument about why we think that's what it's worth. It's a nice wagon. Being rust free helps. I'd pay $3,000 tops. And that's being real generous. I bought a 93 3 speed FWD loyale with 52,000 miles on it 4 years ago for $1,000 flat. It was immaculate. I bought an 87 GL with 46,000 miles on it 3 years ago for $1,200. It was a little rusty but had the 5 speed dual range 4wd. Your car isn't worth as much as you are hoping. You've actually put more money in to it than it was worth; don't expect to get it back. This is something that happens to all of us by the way lol
- I'm sad after seeing my 86 XT go today....

'89 GL front tire toeing out. Will a new strut fix? Please see picture
If you're getting a whole replacement strut (not just the shock absorber) and it is complete (springs and shock installed already) you just need a way to pop out the balljoint. Might wanna throw new ball joints in there while you're at it anyway. I used pickle forks last time I did this. Tie rod should be removed too, but you can just smack the side of it with a hammer after loosening the bolt and it'll snap out of place.

my free 92 sedan.
Eh, is the tick bad? Constant? I mean, you can put it off for a bit. I drove with TOD for about 5 months before finally putting a new pump on there and enjoying the peace and quiet again. I mean if it's too much trouble though...I could take a drive out there and rid you of the pest. =P (I'll stop bugging you like that now. I just wanted to throw one more in there lol)

Poor Engineering (fit and finish) rant - WARNING...
What flowmaster said, especially for a part that never gets use. Also, what was the MSRP for these cars when they came out? I mean these cars were built cheap. Especially the Loyales. I just went through the exact same thing, except I started at the driver's side door and made my way counter-clockwise. Night and day difference in the window. Put your own switch on there.

East Coast Subie people need Colorado parts?
There's a club in the west called the Subaru Alliance. Maybe we can get permission to have a Subaru Alliance East Coast chapter.

What Have You Done to your Soobie lately? (Please post in here and keep it going)
Clutch cable and bracket was in my way. Heater hoses were in my way. Two other stiff lines from the firewall were in my way. Spare tire rack was in my way (that was easy to move though of course). Wire harness was in my way. Rubber boots on the ground and positive leads to the starter were a pain to work off. One of the more annoying things I've done to my car tbh.

New starter in the GL. Old one had been going for awhile. Was much more of a pain to get out than I anticipated. Took awhile for 2 bolts. Ugh.

Lubricated the power window rails + motor + gears on the Loyale. WOW. What a difference. They're like new! Incredible! Don't know why I waited so long to finally take care of that one..

Speed & RPM
In the auto I did. it was real close to redline @ 100. The 5 speed still had gear left. I was probably around 5800 rpms at 105, that's a guess though. I know for a fact it had some gear left though, it wasn't close to redlining yet.

Speed & RPM
Not normal. If we're talking about an ea car. 95 with a 5 speed DR should be about 4800 rpms. I know for a fact that 95 in a 3 speed auto is 6,000 rpms. 100 is redline. I hit 105 in the 5 speed and there was still a bit of gear left. No engine. Just gear.
