So the work begins!
SuperRallyRoo replied to carfreak85's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
OH! and if u think it failed emission bad that time!!!!! You should see the fail sheet for my wagon with that carb on. Thats why I said GET A WEBER it will fix all the problems and also I said I'm sure it won't pass emissions... At least I was 100% honest about it dude. Seriously though if u get a weber it will pass. -

"The previous owner decided that pinching off the return line from the fuel filter would help it start better." That was what austin came up with at the time in order for me to move my car from carter subaru to my house. Otherwise it wasn't starting. I think it was just pissed off that I was selling it to some guy who plans to screw it up even more by burning out on pavement and calling it offroading. As for the yellow cap things. Those where a quick install for the Kc's on a very low budget. Didn't mess anything up!!!!! They worked didn't they!? No voltage drop problems! You should have seen the BS wiring I had to deal with from the owner prior to me!!! wheew... -

seattle 2 Wcss6 caravan
SuperRallyRoo replied to SuperRallyRoo's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
Well I think the seattle people could meet up at southcenter and then go to maybe the tacoma mall and meet some more people then maybe a rest stop in olympia or something. Then just all the way to oregon with stops for gas and such. (I don't make alot of stops but i'm sure some of the people might have to) -

seattle 2 Wcss6 caravan
SuperRallyRoo replied to SuperRallyRoo's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
I think meeting at a place like the southcenter parking lot would be best. And then meet up with more people in another place so on... -
Ya check the seattle thread I just made. And reply to my aim man jezz.

I don't know if this has been made into a topic before I didn't check but i'm going to do it again. Thinking about leaving around noon on friday heading to hood river for Wcss6. Any seattle tacoma or olympia people out there willing to meet up in certian locations to join this mighty caravan? May be too early for caravan talk but other people are doing it so we should too.
-
Well I get off work at 12 noon on friday. Kinda leaves all day to drive down time to setup camp eat chat and sleep? Or you could leave earlier and people could meet up in tacoma & olympia. Seattle-tacoma-olympia caravan. That would be cool!!!
-
I'll be there leaving friday afternoon wanting to join some kinda caravan from seattle... Sparkster? I'm going to be bringing my 90 legacy. Hopefully I will have some mods on it by then like tires at least.

Haha I was just about to. I just drove this thing around all over the place and I am very impressed with the power after 4000rpms it really really starts to scoot. I was able to go from 60-90mph very quickly!!! Driving old 80's subarus with ea81 engines i'm not used to this much power haha. Its very fun to drive!!!!! And I was doing this with 2 other people in the car. Woo hoooo and I paid 1500$ for it not bad cause it feels like i'm driving a brand new car. And it gets at least 25mpg cause I went 50 miles today and its still not on E and I only put like 2.5 gallons in.

OK it just ate my HUGE thread that I spent 10 min typing out. Uuh. Anyway Lets try this again. I have been looking for a legacy sedan with the Awd 5spd tranny for about a month now and finally I have one. And I am HAPPY!!!!! I had it tested at the local emissions place and it passed very fast, within about 13 seconds. It seems to get pretty bad gas milage though and I don't know if its just the gauge because its kind of funky when it gets to about 1/4 of a tank it just drops off to nothing when I stop and slowwwlly comes up to under 1/4 but the light never comes on. I have gone 7 miles total and I put 2.5 gallons in and it went from almost empty to 1/4. So i'm kind of freaking out at what kind of gas milage this thing might be getting. If it passes emissions doesn't that mean its in pretty good shape and should get in the 20's at least? I can settle for 20mpg in the city but like 3mpg Is not ok with me. It runs really good and it hauls pretty good rump roast. So i'm hoping its just a faulty tank sensor or something. I guess I will fill it up and see how long it takes to go to empty.

Yes I wasn't about to beat my car to **** just to win a race that has no points involved! I didn't even want to run when i saw the course. I tried to get my money back but they wouldn't do it. I should have just murdered dozens of cones on my last run.Next time it will be in a 5spd AWD legacy sedan with rally tires. Oh and my last name is actually Milner.
-
Just imagine the poor people... (me) lol who had to run open!!! Last class... That was some BUMPY stuff! I had my rump roast end jump up a few times and nose dive and seriously messed up my license plate and my lil splash gaurd thingy that is somewhere on the course. Also dented the skid plate that had no dents in it before... I'm glad I put that skid plate on though.

What kind of Gas Mileage do you get?
SuperRallyRoo replied to SubieNewbie's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
About 25 in the city in my wagon, 27-30 on the highway with a weber and a 5spd d/r. I think the engine has some blow by. Hatchback gets about 24 in the city and up to 33 on the highway. Its got 27" tires and stock hitachi demissioned and a 4spd d/r. -
B4 I did the engine conversion on my wagon to n/a... With the ea81t engine I redlined in 4th gear which was well over 85mph. Was too affraid to put it in 5th. I was having enough trouble keeping it straight lol. And that was with a bad turbo and a poorly running engine. Now it won't go much over 80 slows to 70 up a hill the hatchback could go 85+ with the weber and 27" tires but now it can only do about 60 which is probably about 70. (has a 5spd D/r)

Sputters when turning left
SuperRallyRoo replied to subynut's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I like the PCV setup... So it didn't get rid of the smoke blowing all togethor just made it a little better or? You really need to clean your engine man! It will probably cool better. I notice my wagon and my hatch run different temps because the hatch's is kinda muddy but its not ALL brown! haha! Any ill effects on eliminating the stock pcv setup? Edit...I guess it would spray oil into the air instead of into the carb?... -
Next RallyCross on July 18th, Kent, WA
SuperRallyRoo replied to edrach's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
See if u can beat the ol' Unturbo turbo wagon? in a turbo coupe? lol. It will be fun to race without worrying about points. focus on getting really muddy killing the cones or something ha.
