welded center diff?
really, i am just being lazy. if i could weld them together to achieve full lock up at the rear, i would be getting equal power to the rear, or almost equal power as the front.... then i would not have to put in a D/R. and i have wanted to try an auto for wheeling.the reduction of a torque converter mathematically works out to about 2:1, so it would be like using a low range.....cheers, brian

welded center diff?
umm, yeah, i have read all of that before.... i have had about 4 4EAT's apart. there are a set of housings involved with a clutch.they could be welded together i think.hence why i asked , "if anyone had done it" excuse me for using the wrong wording.the "viscous coupler" as it were , is what i want to conjoin....... and , since noone has just welded the damn thing together, i guess i'll do that. cheers, brian

broke rear diff stub bolt
yep , cut the stub off right about the same place it broke to get your eyes on it, then cut off more of the stub, and none of the bolt.take that piece of the stub off.then grab bolt with vice grips. soaking them in pb blaster works pretty well if they are stubborn.of course we have cut as many as we have saved too......so , i guess it's a fifty-50 shot.cheers, brain

EA81 with 32-36 or 38-38
this convo is old.i would search around a bit.there are plenty of things to do to add power. the aircraft guys are mostly taking steps to ej there rigs now too.Ken built a 150 hp ea81.it is doable.but , regardless......the 32/36 can be jetted up quite a bit. all or most of it is in the weber thread.with alot of different links.that is why i stated it earlier....cheers, brian

steering u-joint
finding a new one will prove very tricky. i tried a few years back through summit motor sports, and a few others.just wouldna fit..... a good used unit can last a while.so don't rule that out....you might also look into cleaning the one you have up, and seeing if it performs any better.......
