  1. Don't be so hard on yourself, others on the board have done dumb things also. Just kidding.
  2. There has been voluminous talk about this topic in the last few months and the rsident expert on the potential for damage seems to be Alias 20035. Check the threads for the write ups on damage to the awd system. I'd change the tires then go out and rally it to check the awd system; see if it still works properly. Hope so.
  3. I would hate to be presumptious, but I have to assume you are talking about the vehicle in your signature. Is that correct?
  4. oil, timing belts, and you're good to go. Run it till the wheels fall off.
  5. With the amount of body rot on the East coast, you'd do much better to buy a soob in CA and drive it there. Otherwise, buy some POS and drive it until the wheels fall off and buy another....
  6. I hope you can get in touch with him. There have been a couple of other posts citing problems with contacting him. If you are successful, let me know. I want to buy a lift kit from him after the holidays are over.
  7. It runs in my mind that there has beenseveral discussions about CCr on the site, and most of the statements were positive, although I can't cite and specifics. Keep it bumped until you get a definite answer. But for that price, I'd look at buying one out of a scrapyard and slapping it in. It would be about a quarter of the price, if that.
  8. Or maybe even 35 mpg, but that's doubtful. Nevertheless, congrats on getting home and kudoes to all of the WA guys for their magnanamous efforts. Reminds me of the old motto from M.A.S.H. - "Best care anywhere."
  9. Welcome and thank you for not adopting yet another confusing Pink Marini monaker.
  10. Muffed tire? A tire with a muff? I've heard of muff diving, but this is a new one.
  11. The difference between where you are and here is that our first snow doesn't go away until May.
  12. And why not, everyone else has. Continental is not the most customer friendly dealer around. The only way I'll deal with them is wait until my wife has a real bad case of PMS and then let her go in and strike up a deal. Works quite well. Kind of levels the playing field.
  13. That's too rich. I haven't transported any pigs since I got married.
  14. Initially, it looked pretty bad. But it's probably about par for the course. Makes one want to investigate the practicality of one of those marine battery boxes. Fully enclose the thing in leakproof plastic.
  15. If an ej22 can be put into a Brat, it should work for your application. Ask around.
  16. Smells? Smells? I thought ALL Subarus were supposed to smell. It's part of their charm. No two are alike. If you can't identify your ride (blindfolded) by its smell, you haven't made peace with it yet.
  17. WOW! Talk about the potential for toasting thewiring harness. One crossed wire and POOF. Good luck with that one. I guess I'm too timid to play with that one.
  18. 300 k of k's. Wow. It won't be long and I'll be there on two of my three soobs.
  19. Welcome. I hope you're here for a while and not just to sell your vehicle, but if so, good luck.
  20. He means Nokian Hakkapeliitas. They are as good as they are difficult to spell. They are also manufactured under the Nordman logo (easier to spell). I've been told the Hak 1's and the 10's are no longer made, but I see them being sold here. So there are a bunch still in warehouses around the U.S.
  21. It's like mushrooms one sprouts up and then they're everywhere. Congrats to all of the guys in the WA area for spiriting on such interest, and welcome to the board, Dan. Go recruit more, and then send them to AK.
  22. A big thanks to Battle_Wagon_Medic as he just sold me a spare engine and transmission for my 83 Brat. Now that I have those two things, I'm guaranteed my soobie will run for another 100,000 miles. Thanks again, Jon. Also, he has a bunch of other Brat parts and he's more than fair on pricing. Tis the season.
  23. PM alias 2035. He may well be able to diagnose your problem.
  24. Alias - sorry, didn't mean to disrespect your knowledge level. Your posts have proven you to be another newer gen guru worthy of throwing most any question at. Nice job above.
