  1. There is a UROC competition Rock Crawler that uses an STi motor. Unimog axles are heavyier, more expensive and harder to find parts for than a Dana 60. The latest Crawlers are not using Unimog equipment anymore.
  2. On a good day my remote will work at 300 ft. and 100 ft. on a bad day. Cast one more vote for....check your batteries. Good Luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester--Subaru keyless entry and remotes provided by EBAY.
  3. It doesn't have those little "4WD" steps in the side of the bed.

A 12" rim will fit and clear all the brakes and steering components. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=4967&sort=1&cat=500&page=3 The question is what are you going to do with a 12" rim? If you mount a middle of the road tire "26 inch", you'll need a lift to clear them--depending on the width? http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=7438&sort=1&cat=500&page=2 http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=7435&sort=1&size=medium&cat=500&page=2 A smaller tire would fit a bit easier. Your stock tire should measure about 22.5" A 26" tire measures out to about 25.5 Tell us what you have in mind? Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester
  5. I was never able to find a 13" tractor tire. What equipment uses them? I never found any industrial or farm equipment that used a 13" wheel. With no demand, no one is going to make them? Best I could find was 14". Send us a link on the 13" tractor tires.
  6. You might want to search a bit but here is a pretty good link.... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=24980 Good Luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester
  7. There is a complete Tan one in an out of the way Junkyard here in SLC.
  8. My guess is your coolant is not topped off or not topped off properly. I had this in my 01 Forester. I'm now convinced it was an air bubble in the cooling system. Check you coolant! or let the Subaru guys do it at your service appt. Good Luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester
  9. So...you haven't given us any details... we're going to quit begging... if you don't fess up....
  10. Yes, your hubs are locked, that's your option. Just messing with you. Welcome to the board, as of yet no one has made a unlockable hub although some have been discussed.
  11. I had a hitch on my Hatch. The one I used came off an old Honda Civic. It mounted to a plate and the plate mounted to the bottom side of the rear cargo area. I also also attached to the bumper. I'd think if you know how to weld, you could easily make a custom one. Good luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer--hitch 84 GL Mad Max--hitch 01 Forester--hitch

I do the exact same thing with my Trooper. Vehicles make logs much easier to move!!!
  13. Never used um! Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester
  14. Shipping from the Northern Mariana Islands might get expensive!
  15. I just used the archive feature and it's great! I was at my limits too. The download to a file is a great feature to keep your treasured PM's!
  16. Seems to me we're all paying what the market will bear? If the collectors wanted them they'd be out bidding us or driving the price up at the local Junkyards. Having said all that, you probably will get more on Ebay for anything you sell? My .02 Glenn
  17. I think there is also some "beatin" required to allow clearance for some rear drive train parts. Do a search, it's been done many-a-time. I'd also agree that is may be cheaper to just buy one and restore it with your other car parts, rather than purchase JY parts and add them to your car... Good Luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester
  18. If it were me, I'd look at NADA.COM and put in some figures and see what current wholesale (Low Book)prices are. I'd look for a vehicle in your price range with the proper amount of miles or less. If you can find a non-wrecked, non-painted Subaru without high miles, I'd consider buying it. Good Luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester--purchased $1,000 below low book with average miles. No paint no collision.
  19. Welcome to the board! I'm not sure why your post got moved but if you re-phrase your question it should fit in the "Newer Subaru" forum without getting moved. You may get better exposure for your question in that forum? Good knowledgable folks in the newer forum. I've had great luck with that type of request in there. Also you may try a search for JDM and see if you find anything helpful. Good Luck with the project! Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester
  20. I'm just far enough away to not feel guilty about helping! Good Luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester
  21. What's wrong with a Junkyard part for $5-10? I had the same issues and looked at a new one but that just didn't make sence. I also wired my pump to the coil until I could locate a Junkyard FPCU. Seems to me a JY is a quick, cheap, real fix? Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester

When it comes to real off-roading, how many vehicles are really what they appear to be anyway? By the time your done with modifications, with an off-roader, who's to say what it is? Modify away, I think it's funny! Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester
  23. We should probably respect the Donor members more than the charter members. Donors put there money where their keyboard is! Says the person with no DONOR by the name Congrats!! Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester
  24. Looking for anyone who is potentially headed from or thru Reno Nevada headed East I-80 towards Salt Lake City, Utah. I'm looking for someone who can transport rims from there to here. Happy to help with gas. Thanks, Glenn
  25. This is what came out my exhaust:confused: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=9699&sort=1&cat=500&page=1 I'm not sure if it's something a rodent stashed in my muffler or if its the remains of my nuked emission reed valve? This is from Mad Max, 84 GL. Max had not been started in several months. Max is running poorly/rich since it nuked the emission valve thingy. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=7862&sort=1&cat=500&page=2 This exhaust crap it blew out looks like fiber glass or toasted grass? Did I just cook a family of mice or did I nuke something on the car.
