I had my alternator bench tested
The one I just replaced out of Mad Max was putting out 20-21 volts. Your asking to fry something with that many volts. The junkyard one I replaced it with puts out 14 volts. REPLACE your alternator! Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester

What tires are you running on that anyway?

Cyclops light - WTF?
Anyone got an owners book handy... My 82 Hatch would only work the center lamp with LOW beams on. I always wanted the center lamp to work with the high beams

4 Lug VW rims?
The bottom set could be redrilled to a 140? However I think you'd have a hard time getting it right. Just a thought...

14" Scorpion buy or not
A little elbow grease and some paint should keep air in them! Price is the bottom line.

Which motor would be in this?
Mark, Good to hear from you... I think that's an Ebay ask seller a question issue. The pics are not clear enough to really see much of the motor. Good Luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL 01 Forester

SJR Ultimate offroader project
I like it... The doors are exactly what I would have done. I prefer a cut door to a tube door. Glueing the front and back together is going to be tough. Do you have an over all length or wheel base your shooting for? Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL 01 Forester

something crazy... why U should own a subaru if You wanna piss off a maffia don...
When you start your car, where it your foot? My foot is usually on the brake pedal. If Don cut my brake lines I'd probably notice it when my foot went clear to the floor? At that point I'd be pumping the brakes wondering why they don't feel solid? Instantly I'd remember that Don was following me around the day before... and I'd figure it out before I was speeding towards a real tall cliff. I doubt I'd leave the driveway w/o figuring it out...Sorry Don got to do better!

Rebuilt Mustache bars?
Here's a pic of my bar. I added a strap of 1 1/4 steel along the bottom to form a inverted "T" shape. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=2383&sort=1&cat=500&page=2 Good Luck Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL 01 Forester

Stupid question
Someone a while ago suggested using the pin wrench that you use to change the cutting disks on your angle grinder? I tried it and it works. Now if you don't have an angle grinder... Be patient, turn slow Glenn 82 SubaruHummer--used pin wrenches, channel locks, screwdrivers to turn the brake pistons. 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester

Planning modifications
http://www.ausubaru.com/byb/ Backyard Boys http://www.oregonoffroadsubaruclub.org/ Mudrat lifts those things too. His site is down http://www.scorpionsubaru.com/ Scorpion makes quality stuff. Heres three other lifts. Gearing....so far the divorced T case is the only real solution... Many folks are trying to develop other ways but no one has nailed it yet. The rear suspension will drop forward because of it's trailing arm design. A lift is the only way to avoid tire rub with a stock suspension. Good Luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester

Cherry bomb muffler??
Glass-pack was a generic name for any tubular, fiberglass filled, muffler. Now someone has copyrighted the name and are selling cheap regular mufflers under the brand name "Cherry Bomb". I have a "Cherry Bomb" turbo II on my buggy but it's just a regular muffler that didn't cost much. A DOG's is a true glass pack which is still sometimes referred to as a Cherry Bomb.
