  1. Will it run on starting fluid? Is there any gas in the fuel filter. Could you pull the gas line and see if anything is there...be careful. Is the pump pumping? Are you getting a spark? Don't check this with any gas/vapors present. You'll find the problem. Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester
  2. Looks Great! Is that a Washington license plate?

But, remember... The rocks must be punished!
  4. You can always have your tires siped?
  5. Keep your eyes open and you'll find something. There are always cars being wrecked. One of those has got to have a good motor. I'd do the 2.2 if it was me.
  6. Checker Auto, told me they had a rebuild kit for the Subie Alternators. Has anyone had any luck with the rebuild kits? Are they tough to do? Is a JY alt a better gamble?
  7. I have the same problem with Mad Max, 84 GL (EA81). I was told it won't pass emissions testing. A neighbor told me to delute my gas by 2/3 with denatured alcohol. He guaranteed it would pass Thoughts... Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester
  8. With your stock 13" rim your not going to have much selection in tires. Snow tires or an aggressive radial is the best your going to find. Tons of threads about Pugeot rims and redrilling truck rims. Try a search in the old school forum. Does your 86 have the adjustable suspension? Free lift if it does. (ok its a small lift) Welcome to the board. Your in the right place. Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester
  9. Stop in when your in the area. I'd assume your going to go I-70 then up? Lemme no Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester
  10. LOL! Same reason the kids couldn't find it...they were leaning on it! ...and when they weren't in the car...
  11. $1,200...Not bad for a complete project car. You'd spend a bunch more than that if it wasn't complete.
  12. Amen! Why they didn't do this in the U.S. is beyond me.
  13. Don't worry about the timing belt/gear issue. Let your mechanic do the axles and see how it works. If it doesn't feel right, give it a tune-up. Tune-ups usually cure everything that ails those old Subies. Good Luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer--basic tune has always cured it. 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester
  14. 01 Forester, has had this obnoxious squeek & rattle/knock for over a year now. It has been driving me nuts! I've had the kids in back pushing on various pieces of plastic trying to isolate the noise... No luck! I've been back there doing the same thing... No luck! Last night, I undid the drivers side rear seat and folded it forward on a hunch... No Rattle!!! I know you don't care but I had to tell someone. It's been driving me nuts forever! And now I know what it is....! Now all I have to do is fix it. Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL--Mad Max 01 Forester--gave up it's secrets today.
  15. That is just plain cute! Nothing I can buy... :-\
  16. Ya they're dangerous but they're still cute. Who are you going to hit in the backyard anyway? You could off-road it and give the Yamaha Rhino, Kawasaki Mule some run for thier money. Still dreaming... Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester
  17. Is your antifreeze topped off in both the radiator and the overflow tank?
  18. Sounds like your motor was sick from the start. The fact that the motor is seized backs that up. These cars are not fast but they should be able to get you around in a stock configuration. Sounds to me like you'd prefer just to sell it and move on? I'd think you'd be able to get around $500 from someone with a spare motor laying around in their garage. Good Luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester
  19. When it rains... Sorry to hear of your troubles. Sounds like things are better now though? I hate those days, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester
  20. Welcome to the board, Lots of Subie people here. Most of us seem to just buy Subarus not sell them. Good Luck, I've never sold a Subaru! Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester
  21. Welcome to the board, Warning! There are many whacky people here--enjoy them! This place is a great resource, and cheaper than a Dealer. Great pics, so which car is faster? There are a bunch of Board members down your way, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester
  22. I think thats a cheap Chrysler trim piece falling off. It appears to be infront of the tire? If it was on the other side of the car the tire would be blocking part of it. The mystery deepens....

He looks a little scared I think Randal needs to change his underware. Or is it really the Jennifer Wilbanks the "Run-away-Bride"? Looks like her from here! I hate bolders. Maybe some Rock Sliders would have helped along the sides... Lookin good, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester
  24. What about a come-a-long and some sort of support. (and a lot of luck) I pulled a Fiesta motor using one and my carport beams. (no one was seriously hurt)
  25. I just ran NADA for your Subie.... Low Book----High Book $2,175-------$3,725 I'd say they are going to total it.
