AC cycling rapidly
Sweet82 replied to Simon Bennett's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXBlower works fine... I'm talking about the fan noise I can hear coming from under the hood when I turn on the A/C. I'm sure it's the A/C one on the radiator that seems to cycle quickly? Thanks, Glenn

AC cycling rapidly
Sweet82 replied to Simon Bennett's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXGood point, I'm talking about the A/C fan cycling off and on rapidly... On for 3-4 sec then off for 30 sec then it does it all over again.... Is this normal Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer--A/C? ya...right... 01 Forester L--A/C with the funny fan

Tube Doors
Driving without doors is just plain fun. Tube doors are the next best thing. However I have to wonder about the effect of the structural integrity of the unibody when the doors are removed? I think a good compromise would be a cut down door? ( Planting ideas in someone's head...)

AC cycling rapidly
Sweet82 replied to Simon Bennett's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXMy 01 Forester does just the opposite... I can hear the fan on for just a few seconds ( >5 sec) then it turns off for about 30 seconds. It does this endlessly. Is this normal? 3at 4wd T-coupe To 4 Or 5 Spd?
The biggest difference I can see is... The 4 speed tranny has a one piece driveline The 5 speed has a two piece driveline which means more work. Along with the pedal box you'll need the cable for the clutch... Good Luck, Glenn

idiot lights come on half way?

Does any one make a locker for a Suby?
Did you really expect anyone to really "design" one, manufacture it and sell it for a price that makes sence for an old Subaru? Whenever I hear these threads I just sit back and laugh I'd love it if it did but...Nothin's ever gonna happen! Deal with it.

New member, thought Id say hi
Welcome to the board! Your in the right place. The GL-10's were certainly the nicest of the GL line. Is this for street of are you looking to modify it for off-road? Good Luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer--GL Hatch in a previous life... 01 Forester--01 Ferrari in a previous life...

How to tell if its the turbo version of the GL?
So........ What kind of beast are you thinking of building that you need a turbo? The old GL Turbos were not that quick? Tell us your evil plans

Switch to Hatch or Limp on?
Morgan, Do the math! Total your costs on getting your current lifted wagon back to a safe state. $$$ Total your costs on getting the hatch + lift + fixes to a working state. $$$ Subtract the $$$ gained from parting out your lift and other stripable/sellable parts. See what make the most sence. Once either vehicle is up to speed, you could assume both vehicles will need some repair work in a couple years anyway from general wheeling. So don't figure that into your equation. Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer--Trailer Queen! 01 Forester--Not Trailer Trash.

4 head lights, 2 head lights
I could not picture what you guys were talking about. http://usmb.net/gallery/album82/1989_g After looking at them both, I like the quad headlights better too! I love the brochure section... Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester

How to tell if its the turbo version of the GL?
Even if it does say GL-10 it may or may not be a turbo. From the front view (pics), I don't think there is anything that will tell you if it's a turbo. Unless he has a pic from under the hood??? A GL 4X4 with a manual is not a bad thing without the turbo Good Luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester

Brake pedal sinks to the floor,
Your problem is not going to cause puddles of fluid to pile up on the floor. Your system needs bleeding or your master cylinder needs replacing! Pump your brakes when you need to stop! Bleed your brakes as soon as you have time. If this does not cure the problem. Replace your mastercylinder!---then you need to bleed the system again Quit worrrying and do this!

Hello sub board !!
Sweet82 replied to fubar's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXWelcome to the board! I think your right on the harness being the same on all the Legacys and just leaving some connectors unused. I found that in my 82 GL and my 01 Forester. Good Luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester

Bendin stuff!
I think Jumping will probably take it's toll over time... However the body on these babies are solid. I've sawed them in half and cut them in two, down the middle lengthwise. They are a whole lot more solid than you'd think. If you don't have any major rust issues... I'd think your Subie will take some punishment with out hurting the integrity of the unibody. However...once you tweek your unibody the car would develop major handling and suspension problems. It would screw the car up big time! My .02 Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
