Brake pedal sinks to the floor,
Pump your brakes, don't just hold them to the floor. If they come back alive you should consider bleading them and then start looking at the mastercylinder. I'd bet you have a mastercylinder problem too. It's not a big deal to replace. Lots of good info in this thread. Good Luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester

Head Gasket Problem
Sweet82 replied to Tiger Mountain's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXWelcome to the board, They were supposed to have solved that back in 2000, but it appears as though it's not totally solved. The only thing I know about is the recall involving the "Coolant Conditioner". I'm not convinced this did anything to stop the problem either... My .02 Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester

Wobbly Legacy crank pulley!! Help!!
Sweet82 replied to subeseller's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI understand that on some models of the Impreza, the factory torque specks for the pulley's are misprinted. Aparently they require MUCH more than the manual specifys. It is actually a fairly common problem, more people than you'd think have WELDED the pulleys back on. My neighbor welded his pulley on his Impreza and the car works fine. I understand from engine rebuilding places that they see this frequently on the Impreza. New TV Subaru Commercial
Sweet82 replied to Dr. RX's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI heard it but have not seen it? I was listening to the TV (not watching) and I missed it Ok, how does one listen to TV and not be able to see it? I was outside trimming bushes and wasn't going to drop everything to go see a commercial that will just be repeated endlessly anyway. My kids have seen the commercial and they said it looked like the Posche/VW SUV. One of the few commercials I actually want to see--once. Funny, I was going to put out a post about the new commercial too :-p

moving a wagon stuck in 4th gear
I'd tow it with the Brat. I think you'd have some problems getting it to 4th gear speed off starter motors and burned clutches. Get a long tow strap and tow it. Freeway towing is smooth. Just keep reloading... Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester

14" ATV wheels and tires....
Now your loosing me, Stock Subarus weigh 2400+, loaded and in the real world they weigh more than that. Stock tires will measure out to 22.5" not 26" I stopped at 26" for gearing, I don't drive around in 4 lo. I built this for off-road!...Not for the street. Weighs less and performs better than anyones stock Subaru. Makes sence to me...it's a great toy.

14" ATV wheels and tires....
....So put some tires on it!.....

14" ATV wheels and tires....
I hope were still on point with the tires...? I built Summer bigger, faster & stronger than the plans called for. I put rock sliders on the sides, a funky "Xterra" roof line/luggage rack. I stretched the plans and made it a 4 seater. What i'm really trying to justify is....Summer weighs #2000 even! Gassed and ready to rock. I was hoping for #1500 and I think that is possible but not with the way I built it. The aluminum probably weighs close to #200. The plans are metric so you can't get the exact steel called for. The stuff I used is thicker than the plans called for. Any point that can touch a rock is even thicker steel! This puts me right at the weight limit for the tires....unless I run duallys... http://www.rhinobuggies.com.au/images/stalkerdualy.jpg

This is why safe towpoints are required...
I second the motion... I ripped out my rear tie-down on my Hatch years ago when the car was basically new (no rust). When the tie-down gave way it dented the panel under the bumper as it shot out. The sad part is, I didn't want to hook it to that tie-down but let someone talk me into it :-p I'll never tow with any stock tie-down point again. ...and don't even think about hooking anything to your stock bumper... Now I have real tow Points....http://usmb.net/gallery/albuo21/MVC_166F Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
