How about 99 forester with newer engine,can I use the 770 gasket?

When you did compression ckeck,did you put oil in cylinder to see if compression was up? You may have bad rings or cam lobe.

I think sticky brake,maybe get out and see how brakes are. I use a temp gun if you don't want to burn your fingers.

Also you could open up the doner car to see where the plug is,then take another blew pill.

I had to laugh too,may put some dielectric grease on plug.

Any comment on rod bearings?

I like the body style,but the big dawgs here are saying bad rod bearings,uncomfortable seats,bad window motors,and switch's,also carry less weight,and ordering parts can be a debaco.

Fairfax has good point as usual so if drop y pipe to see if guides have dropped down is important.

Also is there a ridge ring at top of cylinder?

Did lifters sound noisy? Did can lobes look worn? Did cylinder wall look scored?
