Dont remove them, since you go off raod there is a chance of starting a fire without them. Several methods of repair, first is to go under the car with a pair of vice grips and tightn all the joints and seems. Second is to use lareg hose clamps to tighten the sheilds against the pipes at the end of the sheilds. nipper -
Generally its much easier to pull a tranverse drive train as a unit. nipper

1st what year is it? Secondly go to www.cars101.com and see what you have. Wet grass is as bad as ice, if not worse. Its not all that fair a test. Add an incline and you may as well walk. Use Drive 2, this will reduce the wheels from spinning. If you have one wheel wheel spinning per axle, (and you dont have all the fancy gizmos) lightly applying the brake pedal will transfer power ot the non slipping wheels. Of course you can always keep of the lawn too nipper

My point was that it was a liquid under the hood. Its not a totally sealed system. There is a vent hole, and from a scientific and engineering point of view, add in the thermal expansion of that simple lid, it can evaporate. I too have had over 20 cars over the years, and have had differnt expieriences with differnt cars. I professionally see nothing wrong with this amount of coolant loss (BTW hes due for a coolant change soon). I have always cleaned the cap ehn ive checked the radiator level, but thats just the way i was taught. As far as the white deposits, thats usually from using tap water (which a lot of shops use to top off cars.. which is annoying). Etheylen glycol and water will loose liquid to evaporation, the water component will evaporate, as it is only a solution, and not a molecular bonded mix. nipper

I almost said that I think the earlier gen 2's they only came with the leather. After that thye were available in cloth. www.cars101.com will help there. I think scobymods has a thread on how to convert seats to heated and how to wire them in. If the car didnt come with heated seats, it didnt have the extra wiring for them. You have to wire them in. nipper

i like ABS, but it is impossible to retrofit into a car that didnt have it without some serious machining, just to start with. nipper

filing the resivoir 3 times in 30,000 miles is not unusual. There is a reason your supposed to be opening the hood at least once a month, and thats to cehck the fluids. The resivoir is not sealed, and will still have the fluid evaporate with time. I happen to agree with the service department on this one (and thats rare). Cars are not plug and play. Fluids need to be checked at regular intervals (at least once a month if not sooner on a long drive). Oil consumption of a qt every 3000 miles is considered normal (and the standard of 1 qt every 600 miles is surprisingly still acceptable..a std needs updating). Radiator coolant is water based and will evaporate since its not in a sealed system (it gets hot under there). If you left the washer fluid in there for the same amount of time that would evaporate too. nipper

Not really. Electric power steering has a long way to go yet, as one example as response. The differnetial, in all its beuty, is a mechanical instantanious computer. Its also cheap. COmputers for drivelines have to be pregramed for all driving conditions, and variations in traction. So why spend millions and millions on something that may not work with todays technology, vs something thats been around for eons. Not to mention all the liability issues (and there will lawsuits). nipper

Hehehe this is the old gen version of the virgin switch. The 4wd is in the neutral position, so technically, yes, it is always in neutral. Push the lever down (2wd) or up (4wd) just to make sure the driveline works. nipper -

My old digi dash did the same thing. It may be the dash, but check a couple of things. CHeck the alt output. CHeck the electric cooling fan and make sure the bearings are good. Mine was a bad auxiliary fan, drawing too much current, pulling down the charging system. nipper

Things DO wear out with age. If someone feels safer wanting new calipers, then let them get new calipers. Being in nevada is not an easy life for a car. I have had cars go thier entire life with the original calipers, and some needing the front ones replaced after a time. nipper -
Well the problem in the justy is the oiled part and the non oiled part. The non oiled part is the powdered clutch (and that usually the brushes). A brave man drives a just with an ecvt. nipper

If they can get 60 miles range from what is essentially a brick i will be impressed. The AWD is a big drag on the car, along with the AC. I know to keep the AWD they had to keep the 5 speed tranny. Electric motors are opposit internal combustion, the faster they spin the more effecient they are. Most the money is in the AC drive and the batteries. nipper

Unlike other cars these are fairly reliable switches. I dont remeber, but you may have a much bigger issue, as in dont drive the car till you find it. The brake light switch used to be for fluid level AND brake line pressure. If there is an imbalance between the left and right sides of the brake system, the light will come on. Unplug the connector for the fluid level switch. If the light goes away you found your problem If the light is still there, check the altenator output with your foot on the brake pedal. A bad altenator will illuminate the brake light. If that checks out you have to look deeper into the system. nipper
