If ti comes with a fan, wind out how much flow the fan is. Then get a 12 volt computer fan, a 12 volt battery, and a small solar panel to keep the battery chanrged. Just a thought. nipper

The car was close enough to 106K that it would have been worth while. All it would cost at that point is the cost of the part, as the labor is free. They make money selling parts, and it should have been suggested. nipper

05 3.0 vdc slight miss, coolant smell (searched)

If you can make the conditions happen on the road, show them. Then let them drive the car back. Pull into a parking lot and let them smell the antifreeze. It may be a subaru smell. My 1997 did it (till i rebuilt the engine). My freinds 05 Forester does it and 06 outback. I rented a new outback and it did it too. I talked to the svc manager and he said they get that complaint alot but, they can never trace it down. nipper

Car won't start, no fuel.
Check the fuel pump relay, I dont remeber where it is on your car, but with no power at the pump thats usually the culprit nipper

A n ice thing about bearings, since they tend to live a nice weather sheltered life, they all have mfg names and numbers on them so its really easy to get a replacment. nipper

On the 60,000 mile belts i usually recomend every other timing belt change to change all the idlers. You can MAYBE make it to a third, but after that its just a matter of time. On the 106,000 intervals we have found out you need to do it at every belt change. It avoids getting stranded or even worse if its an interfernce engine. Glad your back on the road nipper

Centre diff lock on AWD auto
nipper replied to Fatz's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXIf the mismatch between the two axles is too high for two long, the TCU will disconnect the AWD. Also if there is no pulse it assums the 2nd sensor is dead and disables the AWD. nipper

I got a pioneer GM-6200F 120watt per channel 4 channel amp. I know the numbers can be fictional, but its bigger then i thought and has some mass to it. Questions.... The wiring diagram shows two 30 amp fuses in parallel feeding a common cable to the power side of the amp. There is no reference to the gauge of the cable. I dont want o ver buy, but it seems the kits are either 8 or 4, when im thinking it should be a 6. Also the kits show huge AGU fuses, when i would rather use the standard automotive type fuses if i can. Also i can see running the 4 gauge wire being a nightmare. Any comments? Also is a capacitor just for sub woofers? nipper

No resistor would help there. 50/50 power split is difffernt from full lock. 50/50 on demand would be great. Wht someone needs to do is throw a three channel scope on the two wheel sesnosr and on the duty C solenoid and see how they all interact. From there we could make a pulse generator of some kind and dial in the amount of 4wd we want. nipper

If its a bad u joint get a used shaft or have a driveshaft shoop rebuild it. That one can total the car if it lets go at the wrong time. Its giving you plenty of warnings, this is one that you really need to listen to. Someone on the old gen list ignored it and it bent his floor and put a scary hole in it. nipper
