  1. Betcha it's the little "pulser" that's on the V-belts. That thing has to be pretty close, or the AC won't work. Also won't work if you run one v-belt instead of two, in some cases.
  2. All I can say is I have trust in EA82's. Of the SPFI variation though, never had a carbed one. As long as the covers are taken off and the belts swapped to new before doing any long road trips, I'd go for it.
  3. I found my old red '86 sedan at the boneyard, all smashed up and the engine blown. It took me a few days of friends and beer to get it out of my head, to say the least.
  4. If that's the case, I have a decent EA82 rack laying around.
  5. My coupe had 95,000 miles and that thing ticked whenever it wanted to, and also quit whenever it wanted to. Reseal the oil pump. Replace the pump too, if worn.
  6. I have a GL coupe, but I plan on putting in an EG33 once I get the money, should be next year for sure. Then I'll throw a RX body kit and spoiler on it. Hopefully switch to black interior and paint the car WRC blue (doubtful, the EG33 swap will probably break me) C'mere Honda Honda Honda!
  7. I'm going to say.... replace the TPS again. Did you look at the TPS board, notice any scratches or anything where the "feet" on the knob meet the board? My old one was adjusted correctly, cleaned the best I could, and reinstalled... My car did the same thing. I got one from a JY, untouched, threw it in, car did fine. And I never got a CEL, nor did I ever get anything in D-Check.
  8. It's directly in the back, behind the throttle body a little bit, screwed in the intake manifold.
  9. I'd PM Subaru_Styles, he had/has a Yakima rack on his coupe... I'm also interested, I would'nt mind having a rack on my coupe.
  10. Don't get a Weber, you'll never pass Cali smog. Unless you know someone. Or you register it out of state, like I did.
  11. Weird, my electric fan was always on, AC or not :-\
  12. You're definately right... But if he has access to a welder, a sawzall, and a junkyard with another wagon... But I'd NEVER even TRY taking it to a body shop because it just isn't worth it, or attempt to reuse the damaged pillar... no way. EDIT: No.... that post isn't funny. Accidents arent funny, nor fun, unless it's a demolition derby.
  13. I have (well, had) the same problem with my secondary fan. I replaced the sensor for that fan three times, and it still stayed on all of the time, even with the key in the ACC position. I'd say either install a fused toggle switch to the fan, or just deal with it. Me personally... I got a new radiator and the fan wouldnt bolt up so I just run with the clutch fan... She gets hot up hills and under heavy load... One day I'll put in a fan, with a toggle switch.
  14. I'd say it's fixable, I've fixed a lot worse
  15. I needed a laugh before work Hope the car didn't get damaged...
  16. I've been contemplating switching to dual electric fans on my SPFI coupe. Will regular EA82 fans work, or are the EA81 fans more efficient?
  17. My mom's had her same '77 Civic CVCC hatchback for almost twenty years, 360K on the clock, and original block. She also has a dual-carbed '84 Prelude as well. It has somewhere around 200K, was mistreated badly by the PO, but still runs, and gets her to work. I like Honda myself. But I'll tell you this much..... I'd rather work on a Subaru any day.
  18. +1,000,000 Especially their transmission modulators, axles, and PCV valves....
  19. Wow.... do any of you guys have this 5-lug setup on your car? I'm thinking of buying it
  20. If I wanted an off-roader, EJ22 all the way. Cheap, reliable, and proven. Say I won the lotto or something of that sort, I'd drop an STi motor and six-speed in my coupe, no questions asked. Turbo and all. Man... can't quit drooling
  21. 510's are too cliche nowadays, unfortunately. But I still love them, regardless of how many people rice them out :-\ I LOVE that EA81 rally car. Oh how I love that car
  22. Welcome to the addiction and the love/hate relationship (well in my case at least) (BTW I love the Sprite's )
  23. Mine doesnt come out, but it's really loose. It'll fall out one of these days. +1 on the heavy keychain ruining the cylinder as for the battery, i'd say replace it. mind as well, if it's a long term vehicle.
