  1. oops... very cool rack for being homemade! i love it! i've seen alot of homemade roof racks, but this one looks amazing! never would have thought those combinations would make it look nice.
  2. hope you don't mind if i add on to this post with a question of mine. anyone know where to get those rubber bushings for the brackets that hold up the steering rack? my brat has alittle play from it being used as a ranch truck from 1984-1997 where it stayed parked till 2017.
  3. car sold for $2,600 already this morning, above asking price. i tried. he said his phone and email has been going off like crazy since.
  4. oh wow, that is an awesome price!
  5. ha! whoops lol, not sure how i even missed that, thanks!
  6. how large are these? alittle hard to tell from the pictures, trying to look at shadows or the back fence to get a perspective, but i still can't tell.
  7. from the stripe across the yellow one that says subaru and the wheels actually being engraved and having 8 spokes just like generation 2 rims from 1980-1985ish, that's pretty spot on. the more i look at them and study them, the more details i find that are spot on perfect, im thinking it's dealer stuff, perhaps next to the brochures when you were sitting at a sales person's desk or something at some specific dealership.
  8. that is really cool!!! deserved to be placed on the dashboard of the appropriate model vehicle still running around, i currently have a Hotwheel Subaru Brat sticked on the dashboard of mine.
  9. i remember when my 4WD switch popped out of the shifter randomly, i ended up placing my switch on the dash to the left of the wiper switch where the blank is on some models and discontinued the switch on the shifter. worked great for me, never understood why the switch was on the shifter like im going to be switching it on and off as often as i shift, cool nontheless. there's some kind of roll pin i never could figure out to remove the switch mechanism from the shift lever, so i just lived with the hole on the shifter.
  10. yup, my gf can detect without actually studying it if they're fluorescent or LED converted, it starts giving her a headache if she's in an office place with fluorescent after about 20minutes. it's like that thing where it's impossible for people to detect atmospheric pressure change in weather on your body, but i feel it in my broken finger and my right hip. My gf feels it on her arm since she broke it 10 years ago. weird stuff.
  11. this is why most of the First Gens that haven't rotted through are just sitting parked with electrical issues, those connectors that hold the glass fuses corrode or something and make partial contact. thanks for the link GD!
  12. could you post alittle more info about this? been missing my 4wd knob for quite some time now.
  13. you can rule out your rear axles by lifting your vehicle, putting it on jackstands, put it in gear and letting the car idle, and see if the axle is bent by taking a look at them. i've had remanufactured CV axles bent before, and the vibration is insane at 40mph.
  14. im afraid of heights! but this is soooo cooool!!!!!!!
  15. oh wow, never seen a stage 1 Subaru Dealer added A/C. what's it doing up in Canada? is that why it was never used?
  16. perhaps, it's just alittle frightening to me looking down at the rpm's and seeing them so high lol.
  17. always thought these EA71 4 speed transmission gears were always too small, in my own personal opinion, running at 4,000rpm at 60mph is more damaging than going alittle bigger from 155/70 R13 to 155/90 R13. engine wont be at 4,000rpm till about 68-70mph. been working fine for me for the last 2 years.
  18. have you thought about taller tires? 155/90 R13 are what im currently running on mine. i originally wanted to lift mine about 2 inches, but considering how difficult it would be finding replacement parts because of the extra strain the drivetrain needs to endure, plus custom manufacturing of some sort of bracket and spacers... plus having taller tires helps to keep up with traffic better keeping RPM's alittle lower on the highway so that you're not "that guy" going 55mph in a 70mph.
  19. you know something that bothers me more than not having my wagon anymore? someone else getting the fame for doing absolutely nothing to the car, im the one that busted my butt for 9 months and after many cuts and bruises and a drill bit going all the way through my thumb after the cheap drill bit broke, a Wagon was reborn from the dead, then I sold it because the rust was just too much lol. atleast the car still exists. https://barnfinds.com/3700-obo-1979-subaru-4wd-wagon/
  20. A Coupe door will definetly not fit a 4dr, those Coupe doors are way longer than the 4dr ones.
  21. have you metered the fuse that corresponds to the radio yet? fuse box is located on the drivers side on the left, very uncomfortable to get to, but it has to be done.
  22. would you know what's under the dash on a first gen by any chance? been curious to replace the speaker that has never worked on any first gen i've ever come across.
  23. this is why i don't ever look at BaT unless its for curiosity i can relate to (like this brat that just sold). i just cruise on craigslist looking at weird, quirky, or obscure cars that i may be able to buy, i don't think i'll ever spend more than 5,000 on a car ever in my entire life since i can fix them. but that's just me.
  24. love the tailgates on those things! DATSUN across the back.
  25. have you ever considered putting White Walls on the tires? i think it will help the look of the car, very clean though.
