  1. I just formatted my hard drive and installed a new version of windows... meaning I had to reinstall Photoshop. Last night I collected a few new fonts and today found some time to tinker with a couple ideas. Trying to come up with something that'd look good on a tshirt or mug, here's the 1st thing I came up with. Definatly nothing final. Doesnt even have a subie logo or stars yet. -Brian
  2. Yes, had a complete N/A Spyder setup. I was kinda harsh on it while removing it, so some of the hoses and wiring maybe damaged... but everything else was there. Injecters are no good now either :-p There was a storm rolling in, and I was just eager to get the block out of the car and get home with it. Me and my buddy managed to pull everything off the block and have it out in less than 2 hours with just handtools. I was thinking of heading back and stashing the intake somewhere safe, and the front struts as well. It was a 2WD XT -Brian
  3. http://www.nasioc.com bud. -Brian
  4. No EJ for me until i get another Legacy or an impreza Will. And, i left the heads behind, why would i want some junkyard heads when im spending all this money to have my RX heads rebuilt?? Dave and Jibs... we'll definatly get together once the RX is running. Hopefully there will still be some snow in the mountains and we can do some boarding/skiing. -Brian
  5. Today I went and checked out a different junkyard, still in search of a useable engine block. This yard isnt a Pick-n-pull, its mire privately operated. They sort their cars by Domestic, Import & Trucks, but thats about it. I found 4 Subaru's there, and one was an XT I didnt see there before (saw the other 3 on my last visit a while back) At 1st glance, I thought the XT would be turbo. Since it had a hood scoop, and little rubber boots behind each of the doors. But when I lifted the hood, I saw a N/A MPFI Setup, no turbo. When I pulled the heads and rotated the crank a couple times I was conviced it was up to the job. Unbolted it and me and my buddy lifted the shortblock out of the XT into our wheelbarrow and went off. Was able to keep the flywheel, pulleys, oil pump & water pump on and the guy behind the counter only charged me $85 for a shortblock. The body had 150k on it, but i dont believe this is the original engine. Pistons verify the engine itself is N/A, but it has the PCV in the back of the block that all N/A XT's had. Either or, all 4 pistons looked to be in very good condition with little buildup on them, and none of the piston sleeves had any huge gouges in em According to the machinist I hired to work on my heads, they should be completed by Tuesday or Wednesday and I will be able to pick them up this weekend. Tomorrow I plan on removing the Saab 900 Intercooler i have in the engine bay. I got a new pnumatic die grinder and I think its time to shave some excess metal from the spare tire area and mount up a hood scoop. Pictures and more details as they become available -Brian
  6. Good looking car. Which andrew are we talking about? -Brian
  7. I'll add my mirror as well I suppose. http://www.usmb.net/HTKYSA.PDF -Brian
  8. I lost track of how many posts i got -Brian
  9. Thats no subaru. Neither is the rock crawler with a STi engine. They are just Subaru engines in a buggy. Its like calling aircraft that uses a EA81 a subaru, which it clearly is not. Jibs has the right idea! -Brian
  10. We could, but i REALLY need to get my car running. My parents need thier jeep back. I cant really make plans for recreation when there's so much work to be done Dave, its not the snow. Its the idiots who cant drive in it. Plus, this jeep isnt the greatest snow vehicle there is. Its like driving on ice skates... VERY TOP HEAVY ice skates. -Brian
  11. Well, weather forcast is calling for a Winter Storm Warning this weekend Starting tomorrow through monday. Im gonna have to call off this trip. JB, forgot about john. If he does come through, let me know. I hear there's a real good junkyard there in chico, we should try to check it out. -Brian
  12. I REALLY Gotta get an engine block for my RX. Or maybe another Subaru. Im thinking its been a long time since i've visited the Carson City Junkyard. Whos up for some fun! -Brian
  13. I'll see what comes out before I boot up my copy of PhotoShop. -Brian
  14. With the EJ18 and the EA82 tranny, sounds like that justy is more subaru now, than it was when it rolled out of the factory -Brian
  15. Does this mean new t-shirts too Jibs, if he has a EA82 lift your instructions wont do him much good. -Brian
  16. Ive had it hosted on my server since it was ripped to .pdf Cant remember the URL. If anyone needs it, PM me and i'll dig it out. -Brian
  17. He lives in Australia. I used to chat with him alot on IRC. Cant remember his name but i do know that car is quick. -Brian
  18. Looks real good. I just got a WRX TMIC to replace the Saab 900 Unit ive been using. Im gonna need to fabricate some new mounts and find out how to mount this WRX hood scoop i have as well. Let me know what you end up doing with your scoop. -Brian
  19. If you can put a 2.2 in a Vanagon, whats stopping me from putting a 2.2 into a VW Bug? -Brian
  20. Looks like AA work to me, nothing out of the ordinary... well, except for the horrible camber but you should have expected that. Oh yes it will! -Brian
  21. I would goto the junkyard and get the correct bolts, and ASAP. Inspect the threads on the caliper bracket, and make sure they are not damaged by the aftermarket bolts. If they are, grab those from the junkyard as well. Chances are, you will have a hard time finding the right grade bolt from any hardware store. -Brian
  22. I'd rather go snowboarding! If John has your tranny done, i'll be more than happy to come help tho. -Brian
