  1. Yeah. NV Zeno is in Carson City as well. Im overdue for a Reno junkyard run so we'll need to get together sometime. There are a few others in Reno too, and we've been talking about a Tahoe drive to play in the snow. -Brian
  2. Thanks. There are some small spots where the masking didnt work. But cant really be seen from afar. -Brian
  3. Which pick-n-pull? Are you in Reno or Carson City?? -Brian
  4. I masked everything and re-painted it. I used bumper paint, its dark grey and replicates a real bumper look. The paint worked out great too. Went on in 1 thin coat and dryed in almost 30min. I was worried the cold weather we're having would make it difficult for the paint to cure, but it's lasted a day so far and I even scrubed some dirt off the bumper today and no paint faded. Now... to work on that grill I got. -Brian
  5. Before: After: I think it looks alot better this way. Took care of all the black scuffs that i used to have on my bumper too -Brian
  6. lemme know if your already getting one russ. if you are, i'll send this one to brad. -brian
  7. A junkyard is your only hope in most cases. You can look for a peugeot recycler or you can redrill your hubs to 6x140 to replace the 4x140. That way you can use almost any Toyota 6 lug rim. You wont find anything near 28" for a 13" rim. -Brian
  8. I stand corrected. Guess its been a while since i had to worry about adjusting my suspension. -Brian
  9. Russ, it'll have everything minus the grill. i'll probably go back after xmas to get it. -brian
  10. the name of the yard is called Pick-n-Pull. Tex, there are plenty of grills where that came from. I was gonna snag that 2nd grill for yah, but i didnt have the $$$ -Brian
  11. Does that come from a Legacy or Impreza? If so, i'll never see one in a junkyard. Anything 95+ goes to auto dismantlers. -Brian
  12. If you have a wagon, lift your rear seat up. Then you'll see a rubber cap that you remove. After you remove that cap, you'll find a 17mm nut that you can turn. This adjusts your rear torsion bar. For the front, there are 2 bolts on each Strut. Just under your spring. YOu can use a 19mm wrench to adjust them. Its a pain in the rump roast since those bolts probably see more dirt and road grime than anyother peice of your car. You wont get much more than 1.5" out of the adjustment. -Brian
  13. No 70's stuff. Those cars usually find their way to the crusher before they make it out onto the yard. There's a junkyard in Nevada that is notorious for its 70's subaru's however, thats where I went for any EA71 parts I was looking for. -brian
  14. A buddy of mine told me of this other junkyard in town, so i thought i'd go check it out. Not many subarus, maybe 8 total... but of those 8 were 2 RX's One '86 RX Sedan and one '87 RX Coupe. I snagged the coupes grill so I can experiment, and I also snagged the cargo cover from the RX. Both cars were complete, minus the rear diff's of course. But the coupe still had its kit, and it was pretty straight. Then I decided to drive across town to the Junkyard I Frequent. Didnt find many new cars. There were 3 rows of subaru's, and there were two EA82 Coupes. One had the RX grill, the other was a DL with composit headlights and no grill. I tried my damndest to get the steering wheel from the '91 Loyale, but just couldnt get it off for the life of me. I'll need to return with a puller. But out of all the EA82's there, there had to be 4 or 5 there with aftermarket stereo consoles. All had the same one's and they screwed right into place. So I snagged one for myself, left the others behind. All in all, it was a good day. Sure would have liked to get that steering wheel... oh, and some mint seats that were in a Toyota MR2. -Brian
  15. My 87 has no power door locks, but does have power windows. If they dont work, stop being lazy and just lean over ;P -Brian
  16. Those are awesome! -Brian
  17. Hahaha. Is this all on the RX? My RX doesnt have power door locks. And well... you knew your clutch was going to slip. Didnt you? How is the WRX clutch disc project turning out? -Brian
  18. Took the Alt from my EA81 wagon and stuffed it in the RX. The battery had enough juice to start it up, and it ran and drove just fine after that. Im wondering if it was even the alt, im thinking it might have been the BAT wire. When i tried to remove that wire from the RX's alt, it was so brittle it just snapped. I put a new end on it, and tightened it to the EA81 alt and all is well. -Brian
  19. I just want to get the thing home. Then I'll worry about the rest. Im pretty sure was the alternator. The car started to stumble off idle, and after a block or so it would have no power past 4k, then past 3k unless I were to feather the throttle. Then i came to a light where my stereo stopped working and the car started to loose its idle. After the car died, I tried to restart it but the crank turned really slow, so I just used the remaining power for flashers and to turn the windows up. I'll take one of these EA81 alts (from my 84 so internal regulators) and get the car home. -Brian
  20. I need to know if EA81 & EA82 Alternators are the same. The RX died and is now sitting in a parking lot. I have 2 EA81 alternators in the garage and Im wondering if one could be used? -Brian
  21. Yup, its normal. Just the bushings are worn, but shouldnt cause any real damage. -Brian
  22. With your rotor off the car, grab the CV stub sticking through, and just wiggle it. If there is ANY free play at all, chances are the bearings are bad. Also, with the car put back together, jack the tire off the ground and wiggle from side to side, top to bottom. You want to check for any free play that might exist inside the steering knuckle. -Brian
  23. I say go 4/3 only if you REALLY want that extra 1". To me, 1" wasnt a big deal, so i went with the 3/3 lift. 4/3 will be necessary to run anything larger than 28" tires. Anything less than 28" can be done comfortably in a 3/3. They install just the same. Neither one will take longer. But with a 4/3 lift there are problems with your shifter that need to be weened out. The 3/3 is virtually plug-and-play. -Brian
  24. You cant use the front rotors and Caliper on the rear unless you fabricate a new bracket for the calipers. The rotor is larger in the rear, and the calipers are alot different. In order to convert your hatch, you'll need the rear rotor, caliper & Backing plate from any 4WD Turbo EA82. -Brian
