  1. This place is as good as any. Go to NASIOC if you want to be ridiculed or made fun of. If you want to talk to a group of Legacy experts. I suggest you visit http://bbs.legacycentral.org As far as cheap & free mods go. Try cutting the snorkus out of your air intake box. Its the large section bolted to the inside of your fender. Check your junkyard for a "diamond" coilpack. They put out alittle more juice. Your car may already have one. But if not, its a cheap mod. Like said above, none of these will net you more than 2-5hp at the end. The best thing you can do for your money right now would be to get a new exhaust system. Intake and Exhaust is about all you can really do to a N/A 2.2 -Brian
  2. 1993 Legacy Turbo Wagon. 2.2 Turbo, 4EAT Intercooled. 9PSI of boost. 152 miles on 13.3 gallons is my worse (11.42 mpg) 190 miles on 13 gallons is average (14.61 mpg) I do absolutly no freeway driving when commuting from home to work and back again. However, when I do take trips on the freeway, 24mpg is not uncommon. 30mpg if its downhill the entire way. -Brian
  3. it is a 2.0 It is a EJ20T It should be stamped in your block someplace... the EJ20 part. The US Legacy's got the 2.2 liter turbo in their Turbo Legacys. Known as the EJ22T. And Reveen. I dont think the US got any variation of the EJ20. Not until the WRX came over here. The Early impreza's went from 1.8 to 2.2 liter. -Brian
  4. Loud clunks. Shattered metal. That Civic laughing at you cause you spilled all your tranny fluid at the stop light.
  5. You are posting in the wrong forum. That is what I was getting at. This forum is for Subarus between 1981 and 1991.
  6. That STi engine should fix your dash lights Did you check for fuses?
  7. I have a guess!!!! Somebody who doesn't know the difference between Old Gen Subarus and New Gen Subarus??? What did I win? -Brian
  8. Naw, i bought a mountain bike instead... However, i was seriously thinking about it.
  9. By the time you get back I should be in better shape.
  10. Does this mean we get to go mountain biking or what? I WANNA RIDE!!!!
  11. Tear a sidewall... throw on a spare. Just carry 2 or 3 spares with you at all times
  12. "ONE POINT TWENTY ONE GIGAWATTS!!" -Brian
  13. What did the rear hatch say when you bought it Russ?? I KNOW it didn't say RX.
  14. They are standard 15" pug rims. And RS's are a different story.
  15. Yes the Sedans maybe. But from '87 on, all coupes were propperly badged RX and came in 2 colors. Here's some pix of mine when I owned it. -Brian
  16. Most of the RX's your going to see will be White or Black. Except for Russ's RX, which isnt a real RX to begin with. They only came from the factory in 2 colors, white being the most popular. However, there are plenty of GL, GL10 and DL Coupes that came in all sorts of colors. -Brian
  17. I think the legacy guys over at Legacy Central run into this problem when they do a Auto to 5spd conversion. They need to trick the ECU into thinking its still an automatic or somehow tell it is no longer an auto. But these are OBD1 cars.
  18. its possible a smog tech would not detect the weber if it was hidden under a stock air filter box. However, its highly unlikely you will get it past the sniffer. -Brian
  19. Ok guys, i came home tonight with my new bike! http://photos.bydemons.com/v/toys/fsr/ Im stoked and ready to ride!
  20. Well, i went and looked at the $800 FSR. I couldn't say no. The upgrades alone are worth more than $800. The suspension is pretty soft. Both front & rear is adjustable. The front is 80-100mm. The rear is a fox that has a air fitting. Im uploading pix now. Already have a trip planned for sunday to break it in. I'll need to get a helmet and shoes, or new peddles as the ones on there now are the clip in type and real uncomfortable with my Vans. Pictures soon -Brian *EDIT* PIX http://photos.bydemons.com/v/toys/fsr/
  21. Anything older than 1974 is smog exempt here in CA, so you can get away with putting a weber on them. However, even if its a classic/antique its still required to have the factory smog equipment and original parts in order to pass a visual. Then its onto the real test.
  22. Maybe. Looks pretty straight. Passes smog. Thats a clean brat and well worth the $1500. Wonder if he'll trade for a 1984 Toyota Pickup? HAHA
  23. Nope. no way to do it. The Weber 32/36 DGEV and DGAV are not CA smog legal. As soon as the tech lifts the hood and see's the aftermarket airbox, he will fail you without even testing it and close the hood. -Brian
  24. You got a garage? Working on Nevada Soil sucks If I were in the area I'd be happy to help, but I reserve my Reno trips for recreation these days.
