  1. looked like a blast:banana: bumper looks great too.. last time i did that, got beached without any kind of recovery gear.
  2. what size you planning on getting, had 215/50/17s on my avenger.on dry pavement they were excellant as far as grip.wet handling was good.now as far as snow:lol: ...... it could of also been the fact that they were becoming slicks, they were worn down to the wear indicators.
  3. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/80s/spec/mechanical/engine-specs.html across this awhile back cancel didn't work
  4. that just means other people are going to slow;)
  5. big sweetness/ got no mud holes here in the city/that sucks
  6. had a back firing prob on my 86 gl,turned out to be what my mech called a anti-back fire valve.of course he never showed me where it was located.of course i enjoyed it but not my neighbors. was told by a friend that was driving behind me that when it backfired it through out a small flame---cool!
  7. about four or five yrs back i had a guy run a red light an clipped my front end.he ended up taking off my bumper, one headlight assembly, grill, damaged hood, and both fenders along with some of the supports behind all that.his insurance company sends out an person to look at it.now this was for my 86 gl wagon.they had me get some quotes an then they did a search for the parts to replace all that were damaged(used of course)i think they came up with a total of around $900.bucks. i just took the check an brought the car back to were i got it from and used it to get another subie.this time it was a 5spd d/r wagon.i guy i brought it to just parted mine out,to me mostly. i just realized that i was basiclly rambling on.:-p
  8. turns out there was a piece of plastic getting caught up in there, took plastic covers off an had to do a little plastic welding on the crack.haven't heard the same sound, just sounds like plastic rubbing now. thanks for the suggestions on what to look for, both of ya.
  9. well as it turns out,by what my mechanic said.i have torque bind. only does it when i do any turning close to a u-turn.no probs with reg turns arounds turns.in a couple wks i'm gonna be replacing the tranny so the torque bind prob will be taken care of. the reason tranny is being replaced,is cause of the input shaft bearing needing replacement, figured just put another trans in her.
  10. the other day i did a u-turn in a parking lot, turn the wheel completely till it stopped.after i did that an started to drive away i noticed that it was starting to shake violently at about 15-20mph.has this happen to anyone here? it seems that everytime i do a sharp turn it does it.took a look underneath an nothing looked out of the ordinary.steerings kinda stiff at times to.
  11. thanks for the info, gonna have to do some checking
  12. nope, but i wouldn't mind finding a nice used one.maybe like a 85-86.i know they were real powerhouses;) but i'd fill it with subs an amps an convert it into a decibal monster.
  13. in the 89 gl-10 i had,it didn't have a tinker bell an i kept locking my keys in the car. till i smartin up an got a extra key for my wallet.
  14. does anyone here think it would be possible to take the front clip(fenders, bumpers, hood, etc) and install them on my 94 legacy wagon. would the looks out weigh the costs?
  15. yup that's pretty much all i did/ did use alittle more gas,not sure of numbers sound pretty good specially at about 3k rpms wish i had been able to record it.figures now that i can i don't have the same car an set-up.as soon as i can hook up my 94 leg/i'll record it an let yah have a listen.
  16. when you want them out they don't want to come out but when you want them to stay in ,they fall out on yah.:-\
  17. maybe there was a recall that was missed by carfax reguarding the sensors or any other part of the airbag system.
  18. cool paint job, real tree right??
  19. myself,i wouldn't change back to fwd to save my life. that's my opinion.
  20. it seems to me that in that range(3-4k rpm) is where u get most of the engines power.
  21. or maybe wheel bearings?? but what is chance of only on one side.:-\
  22. man i thought i had work to do on my subie..... 1.need to finish replacing cig lighter assembly 2.reinstall subs/amp 3.find out what noise is from steering column 4.replace trans and fix shifter flop 5.i'm sure something else will be needed down the line
  23. i take it your asking me right? no trouble at all cause the MAF was already attached to the filter box/ simply unbolted it from box an bolted it together to the adapter, then put filter on.sounded real cool, specially at about 3000rpms.when i would shut engine down,it would almost sound like it was exhailing.
