  1. That is a good price for used heads. Did they come fully loaded?
  2. Not likely, unless he was running at 6000 rpm's when the belt broke!!
  3. When assembled correctly the belts marks will line up correctly. You must first set the cam gears and crank pulley to their appropriate marks. Then compress the tensioner(replace if oil is present around the plunger) and insert an allen wrench or drill bit or whatever you have that fits in the hole. Install your belt and release the tensioner. Rotate the engine two revolutions and verify that the marks all line up. It is recommended that you replace cam seals, water pump(if older than a year) valve cover gaskets and spark plug tube seals. If the valves are bent it can still be repaired. Bent valves do not condemn an engine. Search for Delta Cam, they do head and cams for our cars.
  4. Why would you replace the engine for bent valves? No, really, why would you recommend that?
  5. Never adjust tire pressure down after driving. ALL tire pressure should be checked cold.
  6. You'll notice that there have been zero updates since the last post 8 months ago. The best advice I can give you As a new member is search and check the dates of postings. I have not seen or heard from Albie since WCSS10.
  7. Seems you are the "new" guy. They have been here since 11-08. They have many posts and are welcome here. Post what you know!
  8. Hill holders work great when they are adjusted properly. If they are adjusted right you will not even know they are there. I used them in all my rigs that had them. Learning to use the clutch to disengage it is a must though.
  9. Yes, take the top off the pump. There is a small screen in it. make sure that it is clean and that the passage is clear of blockage.
  10. When I did mine('96 Impreza) I lifted the front with a floor jack to get the wheels off the ground. Filled the system with PS fluid. Let it run then went full lock left then right a few times. Rechecked the fluid level and did it again. I believe the key is to take the load off the wheels and the pump by lifting it off of the ground. Try that and I will check the actual procedure and get back to you.
  11. It does over time. But there is a procedure for it. Once i get his info I will see if I can find relevant information.
  12. Rear passenger laws differ from state to state. You will need to check local ordinances to be sure. I know they banned rear passengers in a lot of states. With or without seats and belts. Too many injuries and deaths.
  13. If you replaced all the seals it probably still has air in the system. Did you follow the FSM when bleeding the system? A year and model will be very important in diagnosing your problem. The XT6 does take special fluid unless you drain the entire system and start fresh. Then you can use ATF/power steering fluid from what I have heard.
  14. The intake and exhaust valves are swapped between dual and single carb heads on the inner lobes. The hydraulic lobes are meatier. I used a hydraulic cam to grind my solid lift motors cam for the hot motor.
  15. Yes, we have a torque grind for both. Call me if interested.
  16. VLSD do not work well in offroaders. Do not lock under low speed applications.
  17. In all fairness... it was printed by a shop. And is very legible at 20+ feet away!
  18. It is actually supposed to be the reincarnation of the ae86.
  19. Where do you think you could use 8ooHP? Track seems like the obvious choice. For someone who has a strong opinion about this you sure seem to have limited knowledge of what REAL horsepower is used for. Any of the examples, except the diesel application, are designed for performanced use. 1/4 mile, road race, Autobahn... Don't be so short sighted!
  20. Copy and paste... Well over twice the cubic inches. twin turbo with 2 water to air intercoolers. The impressive part is that they did it on pump gas!
