  1. Engine to body grounding bracket for an EA71 or EA81. I believe the 12 guage wire from the battery cable goes there.
  2. I have been to it. It is a nice smaller meet. My brother will be there showing his wares and fab abilities. Quale "T" automotive.
  3. Really... How do you feel about the fact that your brakes were manufactured by the Mitsu corp?
  4. RH drive makes it Australia or New Zealand. He looks to be competing in some sort of Gymkahana. Looks like a decent fab job though.
  5. I did a similar thing with an 86 turbo sedan. Unfortunately, he found video games and girls and decided he had other things to do. We did get him through high school. He is 18 now. But that too was a struggle. Don't get me wrong. He is a good kid. Other parents nor the police have ever called complaining about my kids. When he applies himself he is capable of achieving anything he wants. I am not saying that it will not work to help him stay focused and motivated. Just don't put all your efforts into one approach. You may need a secondary plan. The best thiing you can do for a child living in a split environment is to stay involved in his life. Try to work together with his Mother in keeping the same values and rules. And just simply be there for him. Good luck, and I wish you great success.
  6. Very nice. I am jealous, mine sits in pieces right now. Just picked up a front axle and will get the ARB swapped from the Brat and get it back on the road.
  7. Congrats Dave, I hope everyone is doing well. Give the Missus a hug and tell her she did a good job. He's beautiful!
  8. These guys have been around for a while. They give decals for 100, 200, 300,000 miles passed on original running gear. Congratulations on 10 yrs!!!
  9. The flywheel tool is for locking the flywheel in place when doing any engine work. It will hold the crank in place when doing timing belts. It will aid you in several other tasks as well. The main thing is to use it when doing in car services. Out of the car there are several different methods available.
  10. I have braided steel cable to lift engines with. Slides along the engine hoist hook for proper positioning and is looped for fitment almost anywhere. Unfortunately, I do not remember exactly where I got them from. I have three different lengths for all engines. A few members have seen them in action and will confirm how nice they work. Now, to answer the original question. You can buy chain at the local hardware, most rental stores and trucking stores will also have a decent selection.
  11. The Hatch and coupe use different tanks. I believe the Brat one will fit the Coupe.
  12. I was there Sunday. Not too dusty at all. With the recent rains it may be a bit of a challenge after all. They did put a bit of gravel in some of the deep holes so the entrance to 311 may be passable to a few more of you. On a side note, I broke the front hub and am trying to locate some cheap replacement parts. If I can't repair it I may see if my Brother wants to go up with his Cherokee.
  13. Geez, you guys need to give Andy a break. It only took him 5yrs to lift a Subaru. He is making progress!! For what you built it for I would consider leaving the FSB on. The urban beast would benefit from it.
  14. Definitely not recommended for a street only car!
  15. I will reiterate that a non-lifted Subaru will not make the entrance to 311 under it's own power. Welded or not. Feel free to prove me wrong though. I will have a lawnchair and a few barley pops to watch the event!
  16. Not really a backwards move. The bucket type shim/lifter is a pain to get right. Especially if you are changing cams. Twice as much work to set them up. That is also the only year that they were hydraulic(IIRC).
  17. You won't be very happy at Evans Creek with that set up.

I was there Saturday. Granted we were in 'yota's and Jeeps but the trail is getting rough in a few spots. The initial hill climb is rugged. It was very dry and silty and much like driving on mud or snow at times. The trail for the most part is very passable in a Subaru with a lift and locker(welded or LSD). I would not try it in a stock one. Make sure to have a winch or come-a-long to get through the rough spots.
  19. LOL, thx buddy! Not all grey, just salt and pepper!
  20. Hmmm... we'll see. Just remember that you do have to drive it back home.
  21. I told you you would make it in the dry. The snow or rain... forget it. There may be a couple who'll try. The holes are deep and unforgiving. They did have a work party up there this weekend. Maybe they helped ya out by throwing some gravel in the holes.
  22. Had to resurrect this. Went to Naches Saturday and found a spot we had been to with the Subarus. Then... Now... The trail has changed so much since that run. We made it to the east side. We were going to go to funny rocks and moon rocks but my Brother blew a radiator resevour tank on his Cherokee. Closed system on that rig. We switched some hoses around and drove it back to the trail head without issue.
  23. They are adjustable. They do recommend adjusting them every 30K or so I believe. .008/.010 is the recommended adjustment.
