  1. I have two. But teh wife b0rked the camera
  2. True. But a new Apexi SAFC is $360 A used one STARTS above $100 generally. Then you have to deal with rigging it to work. The advantage of this homegrown solution is that it is under $100 and works with the correct voltage range right out of the box.
  3. What was the little yellow hummer wannabe? Was that a subaru as well?
  4. I think I am going to try to get in on the next Beta. I am curious to see what I can do with one of these, a decent FPR, fuel pump and possibly some larger injectors than the nissan ones I am using. I have a set of 450ccs around here somewhere.... Might use a 5th injector in conjunction with it, not sure on that yet though.
  5. Given that its a 10V maf, and it is also the trigger for fuel cut, I am going to guess that at 5000 RPM, WOT, Full boost, it is probably getting pretty close to the 10V mark at that point I haven't measuered it, but the fact that it triggers fuel cut tells me that it is topping out its voltage. The more air (Bigger turbo and such), the more quickly it reaches that voltage.
  6. I noticed a couple very minor differences between 87 and 88. 88 is supposed to be the same as 89. I have an 88 FSM. It matches up pretty well with my 87 car and the 89 finleyweb manual
  7. Will do. We moved here because its flat and there's no water or subarus. Thats gotta be better, right?
  8. Theres a guy here in TX that is looking for some EA71 heads and pistons. If you want to get rid of the heads, I can put you guys in touch. EDIT: Just saw who you were and your location. I have spent more of my life in Tacoma than any other place. Lived in the area for most of 28 years. Was actually in Tacoma for 19 or so years.
  9. IMO, It should sound a bit rumbly You should actually get the benefit if a couple more ponies out of it too.
  10. I would think that the manifold/Y pipe would supply enough restriction for scavenging. Opening it up from the cat back should be a good thing.
  11. Thats the one on that white wagon up top. In case anyone was wondering. That has happened. I pulled up to a friend's apartment. Some dude was on the second floor balcony with his woman. While getting a bunch of crap out of my car, I heard him, in his most wise sounding voice tell her all about my car and the moster turbo it comes with and the factory hood scoop - and all sorts of other neat details I was unaware of. I was pretty pissed by the time he was done. If all this cool stuff came stock, how come I have had to spend so much damned time working on mine?
  12. What town? If it is anywhere in north texas, I can almost guarantee that there won't be a lot of other EA82T wagons, sedans or otherwise. Over the past 4.5 years, I have purchased, stripped and crushed nearly every one in a 300 mile radius Oh - I may still have one;)
  13. I just keep a computer in the garage. It takes up less room than the ungodly number of manuals it stores, plus all the digitized manuals are searchable. That said, I still have a complete 88 FSM set and a whole shelf full of saab, volvo, GMC and acura manuals. Having both types is never a bad thing.
  14. I was going to delete this, then I decided it would be more fun to laugh at the irony of this being posted from freakin Yelm of all places. So instead I'll lock it and let everyone that has ever been to Yelm laugh along with me.
  15. For reference, Mine was like $20 on fleabay - new. That shouldn't be too hard. IC TD04 All mounts and piping GFB hybrid BOV Scoop Still under $200
  16. I was just hoping you had a stock EA rear strut laying around that you ocould do a similar type of pic with. Since that one has the measuring tape next to it, a true side by side isn't really needed. Thanks
  17. Turbo or non-turbo? I have 2.5 inch from the turbo back. No cats, dynomax high flow muffler. Nice and mellow at idle. At 7200RPMs, it has been described as 'Satan Taking a ************' Yeah, it sounds that good. Looking forward to putting the 3 inch on.
  18. Great reference pic. Do you happen to have a stock EA82 rear strut around you could do a comparison pic with? Second, is it me or does the perch on that miata strut look weird?
  19. Thats probably because mounting is the easiest part of the project. The car has a built in shelf for an IC. Remove the spare and you are left with a great place to put an IC. Depending on the setup you use, you may have to pound or cut a little. Bracketry is pretty easy for anyone ingenuitive enough to be driving a 20 year old turbo car. Heck, my first IC was an RX7 IC mounted with 4 of those flimsy metal socket rails. Worked awesome . I have some thicker stuff on there now, but that stands to reason given the size and weight difference of the WRX IC to the RX7 IC
  20. Thank god for that. I actually prefer cars that have a functional steering wheel. Save your $$ for a rainy day. There always seems to be one just over the horizon.
  21. 1 - see: China 2 - We all know that US manufacturers (of any sort)have never 'reverse engineered' anything Opinions are fine and all, but keep in mind that little statements can have big implications.
  22. My apologies, I may have worded that incorrectly. What I was pointing to is the DCCD trannies can go to a full 50/50 split.
  23. Not that it applies to a 96, but there are EJ manual transmissions with locking center diffs, both here and in Japan
  24. Forgive me if this is a dumb question. Is that thing even an RX?
