Maybe a little timing advice...
calebz replied to xt6_4_life's topic in Non Soob Cars and Bikes Discussion
Please keep nonsubaru tech questions in OT. -
No experience with your balls, but I have straightened a few cars with a come along and a tree. I have also ruined a couple trees. Be careful and go slowly. Before you start, get under it and visually inspect it. If at all possible, get someone with the same type car and take measurments around the rear suspension, bumper mounts and subframe.
-
Start at the bottom of the door panel. Use either the correct trim removal too or a flat head screw driver. Pop the lower trim fasteners and work your way up gently. (After you have done all the other stuff he told you to do )

I came here because google told me this was the best place to answer my questions. I stuck around because I have made awesome friends in multiple states. I'm still here because Shawn pays the staff an awesome salary. Enough to live the life of decadent debauchery I have always wanted.

Nice. I just rebuilt one of our WCs last week. Haven't tossed all the parts yet. I know where the chain is going.

All stock EA82T Tuning help plz!
calebz replied to slideshow86's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Nope - 7000+ and I'm not sure. But my factory service manuals seem pretty confident about it. Are you timing according to the recommended procedure or just throwing a light on it and hoping for the best? -

What fabrication to convert to single. I know there are a lot of lines to plug and crap to strip off, but I haven't seen where anything needs to be fabricated to convert.

Bad experience, need help

It is likely that fox is right. Sounds like it is time to throw down on a craftsman tool set and get prepared to spend a few hours reading the USRM and using the searxh function. All will be clear after that. BTW - that is an offensively ridiculous price for the FPR. -
To add to this: Many of us have found that the longevity and functionality of aftermarket PCVs are less than stellar. That and thermostats are two parts I highly recommend getting from the dealer.
-
Probably depends on the year. I'm pretty damned sure I have seen a newer one with the intake setup like the WRX.
-
unlike the WRX, there is no room to keep the straight intake pipe with the TD04 style turbo. Can't just run the the charge pipe under the intake. (applies to EA motors only)
-
I'm confused. If it has the 90 on the turbo inlet, you are in good shape. Its when you are using something like the TD04 that things get a little weird. But even then it isn't a huge deal to make an elbow for it. I had a TD04 on for a while. Moved up to a TD05. It has the 90 built in. I could actually use my stock airbox again if I were so inclined.
-
And so it ends.

Turbo muffler recomendations

1) Your age is showing (Vulgar = one of my favorites of all time.) 2) Dynomax makes a decent high flow that isn't too obnoxious oh, and +1 to what Brian said. Spend your $$ on louder pantera and the exhaust noise will work itself out -
Mine is 20+, and I have papers to prove it. Nothing to see here, move along, all legal

I worked a deal to acquire a pioneer AVIC-N1 Nav system, 6.5 inch touch screen GPS - makes the soob a little more equivalent to the acura:P Will also likely be picking up one of those UAFCs referenced in another thread.

Merry Xmas. Here's a cool desktop/background for ya.

Very nice, Eric Thank you, sir! BTW, Bob is still at near the top of my list for coolest rides ever. -
Nah. I think I will let you suffer the dreaded WTLW for a bit. Merry Xmas, Brad
