No drive yet - thanks for the reminder on the wastegate. I had completely forgotten about that -

I'm kinda leanin toward 7.7:1 right now. That turbo sounds obnoxious, using 7.7 will let me unleash it a little more I think. -

I have placed a moratorium on the pictures of the car until it is done - or closer to done. You can still hear some cool things though http://www.element-z.net/subaru/16GNR.mp3 Sorry about the background noise. I keep a high volume fan running when doing open exhaust dumps in the garage :-p That funky bottlerocket sound is the turbo spooling down -

Hmm - decisions decisions High compression? (on the left) Low compression? (on the right) -
Wow - the one they sent me is an all metal 2 core with AT cooler. was $140 shipped overnight. Sorry you had a sucky time with them

Thanks again for getting this to me. You absolutely rock! Initial research shows that the Turbo is a 'small' 16g. Given the rather anemic qualities of the EA82, this is the best of the larger turbos for this thing. Should still spool decently and actually moves more air than a VF22 at lower boost levels. IHI VF-22 435 CFM at 14.7 PSI Small 16G 505 CFM at 14.7 PSI TD04L 403 CFM at 14.7 PSI I just don't know which short block to use. I have a choice of compression ratios. I am tempted to go with the 7.7:1 just so I can use a little more of the turbo Physical fitment looks like it will be no problem. It actually looks like it will fit a little better than the TD04 did. I think I will actually be able to go back to the stock airbox with this thing... Well.. It will look stock anyway. I also have a 2.0 liter shortblock - but nothing else to go with it -
Its the anti-bob?

From left to right: TD05 TD04 VF7 I'll see if I can get out and get some more pics in a bit. First thing to look for to identify the 'subaruness' of the turbo is the odd shaped uppipe flange. With the exception of aftermarket stuff, they will all be the weird 3 sided flange we all know and love. -
More ea82 abuse!! Why do people try to...

A little progress. Huge thanks to Patrick for not just getting this to me, but doing it so quickly! All three generations of forced induction - EA82 wagon style :-p -
Excellent - Thats exactly the info I needed to make my decision. Thanks!

You really know how to take the fun out of owning a 20+ year old forced induction car -
Thats about how it went down for me as well. IT was a pleasant surprise when it showed up. The quality of the unit surpassed what I had any right to expect for the price I paid. One issue that did come up was clearance around the passenger side headlight, but I think that might have something to do with my car not being perfectly straight.

Thats the ChuxWagon. Not mine. Mine is the white one with the scoop Well - for now it is anyway.

I am using stock WRX wheels with RE92s on them. Smaller wheel, but a little more rubber. Not sure which way to go. Long ones or short ones. Offset isn't a problem. The tires tuck.. but the fronts rub the inner fenderwells when too low.. springs are 450 front / 350 rear. WRX front struts. Is that with the short miata struts and the 17s? I can go that low.
-
I might be interested in them.................
-
I've been using that stuff on my EA82Ts. Coincidentally, I am one of the few people I knew that has never blown a headgasket in an EA82T.
-
With the rolled fenders, right offset and tires, 17s fit easily in the rear. I have 16s with 205/55/16 on them. I can tuck them way up into the rear fenderwell. I can't go any lower up front without removing the inner fenderwell. When I kill these tires, I will go a little lower and wider. Then I can crank my suspension down just a little more

Try radiators.com Thats where I got my 2 core. When I ordered it, I called them and made them describe it to me so I knew I was getting the right one. They were very helpful and also provided overnight shipping.

Weird - like I said, Mine have all been the same.

Only 500? Maybe I shuld look a little more closely at the one in the wrecking yard down here. Been sitting there forever, seems mostly in tact. -
I'm confused. I have had 2 loyales and their radiators were the same as every other EA82 car I have had

Poor, poor Wagon! This is sad.
