Turbone replied to teampnw's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Please, lets follow the KISS principal here. The OP was only looking for resources for a clutch replacement, not engine rebuilds etc. -

You have it wired in wrong then. The RFI cap has nothing to do with the running of the car. And I'm not laughing. If you want to volunteer info, please be sure its legit. Heres something I pulled off a Marine Engineer's site... http://www.dieselduck.net/machine/03%20electricity/radio_interference.htm I've had many old gen Subaru's that were missing caps or were disconnected. They all ran fine. -

You cant be serious? The main purpose of this capacitor is to reduce the amount of signal noise to the radio. Thats it, nothing else. -

It helps to apply pressure while screwing in. -
My Krups coffee maker is almost 15yrs old, I think this one will last as long as you keep the maintenance up.

Well, its probably a good idea to not over do it. Old sensors like that can be fragile. -

Why should it matter how much is sprayed on the wire? I've used the stuff numerous times and never had problems with the amount used, I make sure its clean (wire). -

Then you have the hot wire MAF. Get a can of MAF cleaner (specific) at the parts store and pull the airbox off. When you look into where the intake tube goes you will see the sensor, spray the heck out of it. -
