  1. Forgot the 86 GL10 Turbo Wagon I got for free :-p Sitting in a backyard in east Seattle for a few years, it was pretty ugly. Qman helped me get it home and he was embarrassed to have it on his trailer. Before It cleaned up nicely and my late wife drove it for 4yrs.
  2. I've had a few I've rescued, I'll start with my RX. Before After My 2nd SVX. Before After The 93 Imp I picked up. This was the most work I've put into a car yet to get it back on the road. Before After One of the EA81 coupes I had, no before pics tho. 89 XT S/R 4WD. Before After My first Brat, a 85. Before After The project I'm working on now is a 2002 Fozz. Hit in the front enought that it needed another core support, hood, bumper lights, etc. Before (Bumper and lights removed by PO, but you can see the damaged core support). New core support Put back together Right now it has a 98 hood, lights and bumper on it. But it will be getting replaced with 02 stuff soon.
  3. One of the many coupes I have owned. Wish I had kept this one
  4. I have BC coil overs for a 05 Legacy in the rear of my 89 RX. The EA82 top mount needs to be modded some to attach to the shock. For the bottom, I just removed the backing nut for the stock bolt and drilled the hole out to fit the new bolt size. Then used a longer bolt. For the fronts, 02 WRX model was used and they bolted right up with no mods. For earlier years this may not be the case and the top hat mounting points will need to be redone. Thanks go out to Suberdave for this info.
  5. 30yrs ago it was cool, not so much today because 99% have failed
  6. You're correct, most of the time the yards will drain all the fluids, so you wont be able to check those. The first thing I look at is what oil filter is on it. If its got a Fram I will think twice about it and may just keep looking. It wont be easy to check compression in a wrecking yard, you need rpm's turning the engine to get a accurate reading. Most EA82's in the yards are high mileage, but sometimes you get lucky. A wrecked one would be the best candidate for a engine.
  7. You should use photobucket, it resizes them for you.
  8. This option is also available... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=96674&highlight=rear+brakes
  9. And why do you say that? Just because its a GL-10 and has a digi-dash doesnt make it a EA81T.

  11. I've encountered the same thing on a few EJ's. I just slap some sealant on them, its worked so far.
  12. Check your PCV system. Most likely the hoses are clogged up and creating back pressure. I know theres a o-ring on the disty, but thats so oil wont come out where the shaft goes in the head. I think theres a filter of some sort on top of the shaft, but I dont think it will keep a large amount of oil from coming thru.
  13. Suberdave (and I) used 05 Legacy on the rear and 02 WRX on the fronts. This is if you have done the 5 lug swap. The WRX stuff will bolt right up if you have a 87.5 MY and up. You need to do some work to fit the 05 Legacy bottoms . Remove the capture nut then drill the hole bigger so the bolt will fit thru. The top hat needs to bolt to the EA82 mount, so the bushing cup needs to be removed. I'm using BC Racing adjustable coilovers which are a little cheaper than some of the other major brands out there and are just as good.
  14. No, theres a lot more sensors and solenoids. The engine harness will be different, but I think its only about 4-5 connections. As for the trans, I dont know if its different or not. The SVX has the same trans and it has 240hp, so I dont think theres a problem with it pushing the EJ22T.
  15. Sorry I couldnt make it, had some things that came up.
  16. Seriously? You didnt take geography in school? Its in South America covering most of the SW coastline.
  17. Not without changing the flanges on your up and down pipes.
