  1. Dang, why so early?:-\ I dont get to bed till 3am most the time (and thats not by choice either)
  2. Hah, dont think so. Actually, the few times he did pull me out, it wasnt anything serious. It was pretty lame. Got stuck in a snowbank......more than once:rolleyes: The pic above is when he blew his tranny at Evans Creek. And what you cant see is a full size van on my right. He was hooked up to me and pulling also. There was a big patch of ice down a ways and we couldnt get any traction at all. But I did pull him all the way out to the parking/staging area:headbang: Pics compliments of Zapar. Ok, just rememberd another time. It was when I first got the Hatch and thought I would try this area down the street from me. It had lots of mud and some deep holes. I was trying to turn around to come out and I dropped a front tire in a hole and a rear tire in a hole. I got stuck bad because my rear diff wasnt welded yet. Glad I had my cell phone....Thanks Qman.
  3. The heat shield on the front cat is the culprit. I've wedged a nut in there for a temp fix. Been quiet for a long time now.
  4. Not sure if this is conducive to my health, but I just had to:-p

  6. You need the rotors from a 2wd rig. I used to have a set, I'll try and look for them.
  7. On Subaru's they are. The SPFI on Subaru's is Single Point Fuel Injection They only other setup is MPFI and that only came on the turbo's.
  8. It doesnt look like the cage did anything to prevent your rear damage?
  9. Keep an eye on the cooling system. Radiators are readily available, get a 2 row if your in the market for one. I would get a reseal kit for the oil pump and the front of the engine (crank seal, cam seals) and maybe a water pump. The seals, including the ones for the rear diff are available from the dealer, only use OEM for these parts. A PCV, again OEM is another part to replace. Check all the belts and hoses also, the car has been sitting for a long time and they are probably dry rotted. And one other thing. Do you live in a rural area? If so, I would be wary of trespassing/squatting rodents in your heater ducts.
  10. I havent had a bad clock yet, out of ALL the Soobs I've owned. Thats over 20+ of them. That was my first thought, but the actual display was pretty wide. Then the Cylon came to mind, kind of fitting the theme of Pliedes(sp?)
  11. The Air Force is the only Service that doesnt require Stress Cards in Basic:-p Hope to see the Hatch in action before you leave.
  12. There is no locking center diff for the 4EAT trannys. It works with transfer clutches operated by duty solenoids. By tapping in a switch to one of the solenoids you can send more juice to the transfer clutches which will give more power to the rear. Its a common tranny, even used in other makes/models of cars.
  13. No more locking cap for the Hatch:rolleyes: Qman gave me some input for getting the winch in, just need better weather to do it. Maybe 10deg warmer should work:Flame:
  14. I have 5 different Soobs I can drive. Well, 4 right now. The 6 is waiting for a engine/tranny swap. I only drive my Brat right now if I absoloutly have to. It desperatly needs a tranny swap and front end work. My RX has been my daily since I got the HG changed after WCSS8 and I couldnt be havin more fun. But I miss the 6, it had its own distinct personality. And when the swaps get done its going to be hard to decide on which one to drive. My wife car, the 86 t-wagon, is just sitting. Its a backup car at the moment. And the Hatch gets a occasional trip out to the woods.
  15. That was going to be my next suggestion. I've had to use that technique a few times, and it works good.
  16. Grease up the end of the shaft? This usually helps it slip into the bearing easier.(sorry kids:rolleyes:) Try turning the engine over a little, it also might help.
  17. Pick a day, I'll try and make it. This time a little earleir.
  18. I got that carpet out of the XT and its drying out (well, its freeze dried right now:rolleyes: Its 14deg outside) I'll let you know when its ready to go.
  19. Here you go.... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=13947&cat=500&ppuser=96
