  1. Depends on the model. The EA82T's are in the very right hand side of the dash. You can access it by removing the glovebox, but to remove it the dash needs to be dettached on that side, pulled out and 2 screws removed on the outside corner. I know this cause I just removed one. What a PITA:rolleyes:
  2. Great pics and story, looks like it was great fun too. Wish I could have been there:-\ Next year for sure. I hope I can make a snow run before it melts tho. And Bryan, the name is Rob, not Todd:confused:
  3. Yeah, it belongs to JWX. He bought a few years back and as far as I know its not running yet. But I guess you werent here yet:rolleyes: search, search, search;)
  4. Go over to the Meet n Greet forum, theres a write up coming on what the day was like.
  5. Oh yeah, I remember you wanted to share that:slobber: I shall patiently wait for story/pics then.
  6. I noticed some bad noises when making a u-turn once, made a mental note not to do that again. My Hatch, I think because of the 8in of lift, has a nasty tendency to get squirrley when shifting/accelerating when only one rear axle is in. Torque steer in the rear is not fun.. Personaly, I think driving with a welded diff will shorten the life of it. But it could depend on road condtions and driving habits on how long it will last.

Might have it ready for a Spring run?
  8. I asked about that, he said it was a 2 door. Maybe I didnt hear correctly, my hearing is as bad as my memory these days:rolleyes:
  9. Old school folks (especially ones from the east coast:D ) will call a coupe a sedan. Nothing wrong with it, you just need to be aware of the difference.
  10. Well, I'm not able to make it. Stupid mobilehome plumbing:mad: Sprung a leak at the waterheater and finding fittings that work with this crappy PVC stuff is a PITA. Anyway, Qman might be driving my Hatch up today, his rigs arent ready yet. So I'm there in spirit:burnout:
  11. Well, it sure looks different from when I had it.
  12. Sorry to hear about the loss Ed. We'll miss you, but there will be lots of pics to look at.
  13. Probably the most fun you can have in a EA81 (besides a lifted Hatch:D If the tranny is in good condition, run it till the gov goes out, then do a manual transplant.
  14. Then you better come:brow: Might not go out again till Spring. I'm not getting a tree either, just going to play in the snow.
  15. The one in Enumclaw should have them and we drive right past there on the way.
  16. I have the same working conditions, been that way for years. Wouldnt know how to act if I got to work on a solid dry surface, probably fall asleep:lol: I've done what GD said, but I'm only using one layer of 3/4 ply cut to 12x12". Its worked great for years. A 4x6 or full sheet fits almost perfectly under the car and between the wheels. I have to do this when I pull engines, I still have to roll onto dirt to get the hoist out of the way tho. I've had the same piece of 3x3' carpet for a couple of yrs too. I have a creeper that I used at my last job, never gets any use at my place:-\ I recently had to put up a tarp to work under once the weather started to get wetter, its held up pretty well so far. I think my next house will just be one big garage with a loft:D
  17. Dont know if I missed it in your first post or not, but did you replace the fuel filter? Might try some injector cleaner just for the heck of it.
  18. Probably going to have to repaint it, Hatches didnt come in black.
  19. Brand new. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Subaru-1600-1800-BRAT-XT-XT6-LOYALE-OIL-FILLER-CAP-NEW_W0QQitemZ320051968321QQihZ011QQcategoryZ33622QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  20. True, it is. I should have stated that it was in the switch. Thats what it said in the FSM. I just pulled the dash out of a 86 T-Wagon, I'll look for that control unit. What Dave says is probably true, its the same unit on all the XT(6)'s. I just had to resolder a contact on one in my old XT6. I bet one of these could be retrofitted for adj speed int wipers.
  21. According to the 86 FSM, the Int is part of the wiper stalk. So maybe thats all you need? Not sure about the wiring.
  22. Sorry I didnt follow you guys on the way back from breakfast. My Hatch isnt street legal so I took the backroads to the Raceway. I noticed I ended up getting there before the group did tho:D
