Fuel savings with 4WD fuse removed??
Turbone replied to Frank B's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Hah! Welcome to the club. I have 2 XT6's that need work. Just finished HG on the T-Wagon, doing one of the XT6's right now. With that goes seals and other gaskets. I'm trying to install a winch on my Hatch, its not cooperating:rolleyes: My other XT6 is waiting for a engine/tranny swap. My Brat needs lots of work. Oh yeah, and my RX is getting a transplant very soon, before WCSS8. -
Heh, it looks like you had the same idea as me for the fender flares. Those pics werent taken in Pasco I presume? I think we need to get some pics of our rigs together:brow:

Do you have to pull the axle stubs out to install? It took me about 1/2hr to weld mine:brow: -

The fuse is for AWD A/T's. You put the fuse IN to disable the AWD if I recall. -
My solution to restricted air box

Hmmm, aint got one yet:D -
I was working on the Hatch today and was looking at the paint. They previous owner/painter used all flat paint colors, and its getting pretty faded now. Maybe this winter I'll get it painted in the urban camo I want.

Your car has the moulding on it, theres no glue. If its old, dried up and cracked they may not want to do it unless you get new moulding. They also will not warranty it when you supply the glass. I just called a few shops in my area for my 86 Wagon and that was their story. -
Cherry '84 Turbo Wagon for sale
Turbone replied to RedBrat's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I bought Qman's 84 T-Wagon about 4yrs ago (Won award @ WCSS3). He did a few upgrades to it, I gave him $1K for it. It was well worth it. This car has low miles, 2 owners and all maintenance records. I'm sure the owner can be talked down tho. For the folks in the PNW that have never lived in Cali, everything has a higher price tag on it. And everything is negotiable. -

Was it that long ago? 3 of my cars have the box cut out, some day I'll put cone filters on them:rolleyes: -
Use a piece of PVC to go thru the fender, that way any gases wont make it into the cabin.

?? He's going to Virginia, not overseas. It might cost more to ship than to buy in VA. Sell it in AK for more $ and buy 2 Soobs in VA.

out of curiosity.......
Turbone replied to '86 oopsie's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
Well, he lives pretty darn close to Gorst:cool: And I think he has a lifted blue wagon. But I've been wrong before:rolleyes: -
Did you check for cracks between the valves? Sometimes, if overheated enough, it will crack up into the exhaust port where the water jacket is. No matter how many times you put HG's and resurface the heads, it will never seal.

Sounds like Mtman38, he lives in Gorst. -
I hate to say it, but to get a Justy capable to do what you want, you need to put the body on a different frame/engine. It doesnt have the HP or the gearing. A Justy on a Sami frame would look cool:headbang:

My Sooby radar is fine tuned:D I keep it parked on the side of the house next to a tree and fence. Nobody even notices it:rolleyes: A soon as I hit the road, its a different story. It gets noticed by alot of folks, it really sticks out. I think I will be repainting it in Urban Camo (black, grey, white)

'84 Brat pass emissions...finally
Turbone replied to edrach's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Yeah, Warrens the guru. He got my Brat passed, altho I had to swap carbs in the parking lot. I'm tempted to see if the Hatch will pass with its Weber. It has a few more years to go, its a 86, and I hate having to get a trip permit everytime I go out wheeling. -
Ok ok, puter talk belongs in OT:D The edging cost me about $12, well worth the cost. I'm not going for looks, its to keep me from getting more added to the fix-it ticket I will probably get when I get stopped for not being street legal. As it stands now, I'm to high for my GVW, and the bumper is too high for my GVW. Wasnt much mud where I was at last Sat, but what I did run into didnt get splashed much on the sides. So yeah, they do keep some mud off...unfortunalty:-\

Dont fret, this has happened to almost all of us when we did our first brake job. The front calipers need to turned in, clockwise. You can get a cheap tool at a parts store, its a square job that fits on a couple of different make cars. Or you can spend around $50 and get a real fancy tool to do it.

Tear offs! Even Zap commented when he noticed them up at EC Sat. The car is already camo green Pat:confused: You all should know by now that I'm partial to black

That depends. If you have the notification enabled, it will pop up a window telling you that theres a PM from so n so waiting for you whenever you refresh the page or change forums:D

When you use garden edging for fender flares:D I posted these over in the Meet n Greet/EC thread, but decided to post them again here. They are screwed on with sheet metal screws and washers to the inner lip of the wheel wells. Not much material there either. They bend very easily and if they tear off, oh well.
