did the rear disc brake swap on my 86 wgn..

Biggest difference is on my lifted Hatch. Try stopping that sucker on the freeway going 60mph in traffic:eek: I've had to drive it for the last 5 days while waiting for parts on my XT6. Freeway and city driving with 30x11.50 Swampers, disc brakes are definatly needed. -
Really Stoopid Things We Have Done
Turbone replied to subbum's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Now that one made me laugh. Reminded me of Laurel and Hardy:lol: Long time ago I was at a friends house and his brother was getting his race boat ready for the weekend. He cranked it over, but it didnt sound right. All of a sudden a bunch of rags shot out of the velocity stacks and about 10ft into the air. It was pretty funny at first, cause they are on fire. Then it was "OH SHNIT!" when they landed back in the boat. Now that I think back, that was pretty funny too:headbang: -
It looks like a dog that rolled on one side, in a mud hole. Do you have the rear diff welded?

I havent heard good things about FelPro for Subaru's. They are going to make some call on Monday for me to check other sources. The guy mentioned Rock brand? for $146 a set.

Heres a kit from thepartsbin.com. looks like a good set and it says its OEM. http://oem.thepartsbin.com/parts/thepartsbin/wizard.jsp?year=1986&make=SU&model=LOY-4WDT-001&category=All&part=Cylinder%20Head%20Gasket%20Set&dp=false I got a quote from a local parts store for Fel Pro at $176:eek: I told them I would look around some more:rolleyes:

Walker Valley April, Evan's Creek May?
Turbone replied to NoahDL88's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
I'm game for Evans Creek in May (hopefully). -
Those are the same seats I have in my 89 RX. Not all had the checkered seats, especially in later years. Are those your driving goggles on the dash?:-p

No, its usually the built in Voltage regulator that dies. The Diodes go bad after a while. The main reason the chain stores keep getting them back after a week or so is because of the cheap parts that are used in the remanufacturing.

A 3 core would certainly help keep it cooler, its the biggest problem with the EA81T. If you have AC and it gets very warm in your Hemisphere, I would consider the exspense as well spent.
-
Dont think theres any difference, but it will need to have the cooler lines for the tranny. Unless the car has been converted to MT.

I need a 2wd tank in my Hatch badly. On my trip to Rieter Pit last weekend, I went thru a tank+ of gas. And with prices going up, I may not make to many more trips like that. My big problem, even tho I have 8in of lift, the diff hanger has a plate welded on the bottom where the diff is attached. The actual hanger is still in its original location. This means I have to design and fab a whole new hanger in order to put a 2wd tank in:banghead:

Looks more like one of the rare GL optioned models. Whats the vin # and we can tell then.

New Subaru wrecking yard in WA
Turbone replied to subaruguy7969's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
Ok, disregard my earlier post, it was late for me:rolleyes: Is this person going to purchase one of the yards by the river in Kent? Thats where most of them are located. Havent been there for a while, but usually take the scrappers to AA there. Kent would be a little closer for me, but the prices would have to be close to the PAP's and have a good variety also. -
Why NOT to use a forklift to lift a car!
Turbone replied to RallyKeith's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
This is obviously a joke. No one could be that stupid, could they? But then again, like one of our illustrious members states......... YOU CANT FIX STUPID:banghead: -

Personally, I've never bought anything from Aarons:cool: The places to go to get old gen stuff is the Tacoma PAP and the Lynwood PAP. Been going there for years, you need to get out of Seattle more often:D
