  1. I was wondering if anyone would recognize the song. Yup, its an old Jeff Beck album. I've been burning some of my old cassettes to CD so I can listen to them in the car. I got stuff from the early 70's
  2. My old stereo finally broke down and I had to purchase a new one. Got it on Ebay for $100 less than the store ($250 @ Circuit City). Its a Kenwood EZ500, flip down face and a bunch of other goodies. Got it going into 2 10in subs powered by a 250W amp and 2 Sony 3ways in the doors. The system rocks! I thought my old one sounded ok This blows it away I know all you younger folks get into this stuff, I hope you can appreciate us "older" guys like good systems too. Btw, the pocket above it is not stock. Theres usually a equalizer there for the stock radio. I got the pocket from a EA81 GL and made a faceplate for it. Can never have enough storage

  4. Dave, would this cause it to stall when you are coasting?
  5. I would try and find a stock ECU for it and see if that fixes the problem. Not to many early Soobs have had the ECU chipped from my knowledge.
  6. The XT6 AT is 4EAT. The swap would be pretty major, besides the TCU you would probably need to swap the tranny x-member and driveline.
  7. The pedal box can be a PIA, you have to be patient for that one. Its easier if you drop the steering colom. Balancing the driveshaft isnt usually necessary. The whole job is pretty labor intensive tho.

  9. I agree. I wouldnt waste the money on a kit, just go find another tranny. Even a 4spd D/R is better than the AT
  10. Are the windows painted yellow and its running Pugs? If so, the guys name is Bob and he lives out in Carbonado. Doesnt get on the internet much if at all.
  11. If its going to stay a AT, it will be easier to do. If your going to a MT you will need to swap out the tranny x-member, driveline and I think a few other parts. The pedal box needs to be put in for the MT and clutch cable too. The lock switch is sometimes a bear to deal with, it needs to be put in N and just tucked away (the no frill fix). The hardest part is installing the rear running gear, just because its cumbersome. If you take your time and get some help, its not to bad. Good luck and keep us updated.

  15. I thought there was? Years ago I saw a clip of you going in the river, maybe it was over at EZboard. Wish I still had it :-\ Btw, last weekend at the Rieter Pit Trail cleanup I went thru a pretty good sized mud puddle. It was about 35ft across and I had no idea how deep it was. But heck, it was just a mud puddle, right? 3/4 of the way thru the front left dropped 2ft into a good sized hole. Seeing how the water was up to the bottom of my rockers, a good 21in off the ground, that put the water close to the sill of my window. Which just so happened to be open Not only did the Hatch get muddy, so did I. But when it dropped into the hole I dropped the hammer and spun the tires till I pulled out of the hole. I think I impressed a Jeep driver that was walking around picking up trash, he gave me a thumbs up
  16. Got my Cobra mounted under the glovebox, and the ant is mounted on the front drivers side fender. I plan to change the location as soon as a get a roof rack. Wiil try and get a pic later.

  18. The sound is most likely due to the shape and size of the exhaust ports.
  19. It really dpends on how your lift is made. Mine has the rear diff on a hanger, so my axles are almost level. And thats with 8in of lift. I have a small floor jack I keep with me, but I discovered that I still needed to lift the other tire. And it was still not enough! I need to carry a block of wood so I can get the tire off the ground enough to turn, this is needed to get the pin in the cup and line up the splines.
  20. Spun the key off the crank? Or did the car have the dampner type pulley, which seperates after time. Or did the car just die and you guys didnt know it?
