  1. Ok, where'd you get them and how much? Glad to know they fit in the XT's
  2. It certainly could be the difference. There is quite a diff in weight between the 2. Your freinds 4wd could also be suffering from tuning issues also.
  3. Have the rotors cleaned(turned) and mic'd, they might be salvagable. You can get good quality pads to go around, they usually run up to $40 for a set (front or rear).
  4. Make sure you have the right seal. The part # is 8067 38070.
  5. You may have to remove the cylinder to get the key out. Its a PITA, sorry. What you could do in the meantime is remove the plastic cowling from around the steering colume and on the right side of the ign you will see the relay. Theres 2 small screws that hold it on, remove these and it will come off. You can then turn the cars ign on and off this way and yes, start it also. I've been driving my 86 wagon like this for a while cause the cylinder crapped out on me. And I've been to lazy to fix it Replace all the plastic and tuck the relay under it but with easy access so you can turn it.
  6. What engine is this Ea81 or EA82? I dont recall any metal rim inside either one but I also dont think the main bearing can slip forward like that either. How far out is the seal sticking? The ones that I have replaced on EA82's go flush.
  7. Might start by replacing the fuel filter. Drivers side firewall, make sure you crimp the hose or remove the fuse, its high pressure.
  8. Test the circuit just before where the old trailer harness was and after it. This will tell you if the wire is bad at that point.
  9. The correct mod here is what WJM suggested. Replace the clutch fan with electric. It mounts right to the rad, and its alot easier to remove.
  10. Tim, check the date on his post. He's still around, I see him on MSN occasionally.
  11. Date and time? And I assume you mean the left coast?
  12. I would inquire more about thier "registry", maybe have a look at it. A Brat GL will not work as they have thier own market. Which is considerably higher that a Wagon's.
  13. Get a JY coil and see if it still has the problem. Not common to have 2 disty's go bad in a row.
  14. Aarons Auto Wrecking in White Center. He's in the phone book.
  15. Dont forget petting. They like to be fondled
  16. Spoken from a expert I think the Nissan T-Cases are tougher than the running gear on our Soobs. Just dont get to wild with the go peddle and it should be alright (for a while)
  17. Check the rear diff oil. If its low it could be causing some binding. Same with the tranny.
  18. Heres a replica on Craigslist. Blue 84 Wagon Has a big price on it too. Maybe contact them and get some pics of it.
  19. Does it still look like this? Only one small ding in the driver side rear door and thats it?
  20. It could be just air in the lines that run to the heater core. Its quite common in earlier Soobs. To rememdy this, remove the radiator cap (while cold) start the engine and slowly fill with water. You may have to let the engine run for a while to let the thermostat open, this will help release more air from the system.
  21. Have you checked or changed the oil yet? This could be very important to you. If it looks like a milkshake, then yes, you have bit off more than you can chew. This would mean a head gasket change. Most of us that have been dealing with this type of engine usually change the waterpump and timing belts, and sometimes the front crank seal at the same time. Its unfortunate that you have spent alot of money on the car already. I hope I didnt rain to hard on your new car :-\
