Any SVX owners out there?
Turbone replied to jeryst's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThe biggest issue is with the 92 to early 95 trans. Rarely are the originals still in the car. If they are, its been rebuilt. The rear wheel bearings wear out after 100k. Other than that its a well built car. The engine is pretty bullit proof. I've owned 3 SVX.

Welcome to the USMB Colonel. If you want a pristine Loyale, look on the West Coast.

Seat interchangeability
I put early Legacy seats in my 86 Brat, no pics of it. Put 90's Mitsubishi Eclipse seats in my 85 Brat. I had XT6 seats in my RX, but they were to stiff, so I found another pair of Mitsu Eclipse seats.

What Have You Done to your Soobie lately? (Please post in here and keep it going)
It all centers on where you have the end of cable bracket. To have it work correctly it needs to be mounted on the back of the intake manifold. Mine is mounted to where the EGR used to be and works fine.

Cost of having a clutch replaced
If you want a shop to do it, go to Pacific Import Auto in Spanaway. They only work on Subaru's and are very knowledgeable with the old gen stuff. http://www.yelp.com/biz/steves-pacific-import-auto-tacoma

98 subie broken timing belt
Turbone replied to kclage12's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThe first thing you want to check is the timing belt, make sure if its broke or not. Removal of the covers will tell you if it is. If the belt is broken you might as well yank the engine because its going to need a lot of work. A snapped t-belt at 75mph is going to do some internal damage for sure.

has anyone fit a V8 into an ea82 body.
I would rather stuff a SB V8 in it than a SVX 3.3 The weight savings wont be that much and you'll get more HP. I've pulled a EG33 and its a beast. Having problems finding pics of Lumpcams project, but he swapped a V6 into a unHatched. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?p=146137#post146137

Air conditioning condenser removal
You need to use a breaker bar and pipe on the crank bolt. Rest it against the drivers side fender and bump the starter, with the coil wire disconnected of course.
