I'vr grenaded a couple of front diffs like this. Broken teeth off the ring gear and the grease will sling them up and they catch in the teeth that are still left. Easiest thing to do is replace the trans.

The biggest issue is with the 92 to early 95 trans. Rarely are the originals still in the car. If they are, its been rebuilt. The rear wheel bearings wear out after 100k. Other than that its a well built car. The engine is pretty bullit proof. I've owned 3 SVX.

I dont think the guy at the shop knows anything about old school turbo'd Subaru's.

With the CVT you wont need a D/R trans.

Theres a tag on the back plate. Should be a 3.70.

I put early Legacy seats in my 86 Brat, no pics of it. Put 90's Mitsubishi Eclipse seats in my 85 Brat. I had XT6 seats in my RX, but they were to stiff, so I found another pair of Mitsu Eclipse seats.

It all centers on where you have the end of cable bracket. To have it work correctly it needs to be mounted on the back of the intake manifold. Mine is mounted to where the EGR used to be and works fine.

If they salt the roads during winter in your area, dont drive it.

The first thing you want to check is the timing belt, make sure if its broke or not. Removal of the covers will tell you if it is. If the belt is broken you might as well yank the engine because its going to need a lot of work. A snapped t-belt at 75mph is going to do some internal damage for sure.

A good 6spd trans will cost between $3k-$4k, depending on mileage.

It moves around the PNW every year. It could be in Oregon or Washington next year. Wont know until around April/May(or later).

Hopefully it wont shear off when you try and break a head bolt lose :-p
