  1. I might recommend checking the thread date before responding
  2. Read this thread from the XT board. One of the guys rebuilt a ER27 (essentially a EA82 with 2 more pistons) and about halfway he gets into forged pistons etc. http://subaruxt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=3575&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=ER27+build This wont be cheap, but o-ringing a block isnt either.
  3. Yup, had the rack on top.
  4. Theres lots of good soap out there - Turtle Wax, etc. Go to any chain auto store, they will have it. Just dont use dish soap......ever.
  5. Been doing some much needed maintenance on my Hatch. Drained the rear diff and put it in new. The old stuff was black, but no water! Changed the oil. And had fun re-winding the cable on my winch. It hasnt been out for a while and I had to use my Brat to pull it out. I also had a bad connection and had to pull off the leads and clean it all up.
  6. I think so, not 100% sure. When I said I rolled past him, he was doing 65mph and I was probably doing 70+ (70mph speed limit)
  7. Mr Carb I believe. Buddy of Austins. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=103120
  8. No, they arent. Theres Hitachi's and NipponDenso. I believe the EA81T disty is different also. Jerry DeMoss and Psyko might have some info as well.
  9. I'm going to try and make it, but it all depends on how beat up I am after the Rally X on Sat.
  10. It is possible to get one to tight. I was taking one off a EG33 and nothing was working. I had a 3ft steel pipe on my breaker bar and was bumping the engine and it would not break loose. Eventually got a longer pipe and used my 180lbs to get it off :-\
  11. There have been some EG33 swaps into Legacy's and Imp's, I dont think it will be that big a problem in a Foz. You might be able to use the SVX TCU, it might be close to the same as the Foz's or vice versus. You might be able to find the TCU pinout over at http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=30&f=2
  12. Headed NB from PDX around Chehalis I think, Mykeys Toy and I in my Brat rolled past a lifted white EA82 wagon. Had a roof rack with 4 lights on top and a set of blue bull balls hanging off the back bumper Nice looking wagon.
  13. You wont have a problem any way you tow it. It has to be a AWD Subaru to cause damage.
  14. Found out this goes on every Sat afternoon in Puyallup at a shopping center parking lot. There were over 100 classic and custom cars there last Sat. The Goodguys Show is coming up this weekend at the Puyallup Fairgrounds, so everyone was getting their rides ready. My buddies car, 70 Olds Rallye 350. His neighbors car. 68 Firebird (Qman knows this guy also, he owns Top Gun Exhaust. He also did the exhaust on my Brat). I'll post some of my fav's, the rest are in my PB album. Z Car with Chevy 350 Datsun 2000 Roadster 32 Coupe Beautiful 54? Merc 40's Willy's (This was a kit car, all glass) Custom job Then there was this......Mostly Chrysler, part Chevy and part Ford. http://s286.photobucket.com/albums/ll95/Turbone/Car%20Meets%20and%20Shows/Target%20Show/?start=0
  15. Nice score, one of my fav series of Hondas. Friend of mine when I was a kid stripped a 250 Scrambler for dirt. That thing was a beast.
  16. That adapter size is pretty hard to find (I looked with no luck) and at $70+ a pair, it would be just as smart to use the correct size wheel.
  17. Run a separate ground?
  18. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showpost.php?p=889415&postcount=4
  19. Dang, sorry I missed this one guys. I swear "stuff" wont keep me away from the next one
  20. I'll try and get something up soon.
  21. I messed up and forgot to take after pic I'll have to crawl under and take a pic sometime. Well, after driving it almost a week all I can say is wow....what a difference. This trans is a lot smoother and since gutting my DP the turbo spools up much quicker and I gained at least 10hp. You can ask Russ what he thinks of it, he had a good ride in it today
  22. Nope, only happened once. And I still made it the next day (in my Hatch)
  23. Lets keep this in one thread please. Now, from what I've seen in the EA82's I've owned, the relay is a silver cylinder above the fuse panel under the dash. It could be that yours has moved and is laying on the steering column, therefore making the sound transfer up there. Or I could be completely wrong too I'll take a look in my 86 FSM and see what I can find. Looks like everything I'm finding says its incorporated into the switch.
  24. I would offer to be your chase car, but I want to be able to make it to the Show before its over.
