  1. I assume its carbed? And the ticking is what we refer to as the "Tick of Death" (TOD). Normally a can of Marvel Mystery Oil (MMO) or Seafoam will take care of it. If not, you will probably need to install a new o-ring in the oil pump, a relatively easy job. The Seafoam can go in the gas tank and in the engine.
  2. Yes, the sequence is necessary. I use a box end wrench for the center nut, I've torqued enough heads to be able to tell the ft lbs by feel. But you can make a socket.
  3. Since when do you correct others spelling? I found some pics of my Brat in the mudpit.
  4. I dont think its ever been up for sale until recently. And yes, Bob Barci passed away 4/07.
  5. GD + EA82T = This is the East Coast I assume? It could be worth up to $2k. It depends on what the buyer wants to spend.
  6. Interior EA81 GL seats. I think we should take them out so I can use a board(2x6) on em
  7. Tragedy today at Indy. A local (Vancouver, WA) racer died on the track. 13yr old Peter Lenz was struck by another rider when he crashed while on a warm up lap and was pronounced dead at the hospital. http://www.komonews.com/sports/101757078.html Youngest ever to die at Indy :-\
  8. Only the Gen 3's and up have a button.
  9. If you have a welder and good fabricating skills, anything is possible. Theres a PDF of the book "How to keep your Subaru alive" floating here somewhere, but I cant find it. Maybe someone who has the link will post it up.
  10. Welcome to the club! Just replaced my RX trans not to long ago for the same reason. If this one goes (or when it does) I'm swapping to a new gen trans.
  11. I was going to check the schedule for today, thanks for posting that.
  12. Gahhhhh, wish I could be there. Coverage on Speed sucks rooster too, I've only seen a couple races this season :-\
  13. Pressure washed my Brat.....for the 2nd time since Sun. The mudpit at WCSS12 was a real killer this year
  14. Horse puckey! Yeah, we were talking about that at the pit. We knew what we were in for I have my Brat sitting in the front yard right now, ready for the pressure washer. Just got done rinsing off the RX (that was nice) and taking a break (beer and chips :-p)
  15. EJ up-pipe clears a EA82T crossmember (got this in my RX). I'm pretty sure the EA81T crossmember will also work, as a member here was installing a EJ22T into a coupe at one time and had no issues.
  16. Did you install the clutch disc correctly? I think the long shank goes towards the trans.
  17. Yeah, we had to stop on the side of Hwy97 and I crawled under the Brat with a scewdriver. I think I chipped off at least 15lbs of that stuff. Lots of fun that was!
  18. Oh gawd.....he would have made you take it a car wash and pressure wash it first $5 barely put a dent in the mud on my Brat. It got the stuff on the outside of the wheels, but not the inside :-\
  19. I think I went above and beyond repping old school this time :-p It was a great time, glad you were there Brian to control the mob Now, about early Sun morning at our camp..............
  20. I particularly dont give a rats rump roast when its a car in the PAP. I bet you would (and have) do the same thing if my situation presented itself.
  21. Have you ever pulled the steering wheel off a EA82? I've tried more than once in a wrecking yard, even used a puller once. It bent the puller! I even beat on the end of the shaft with a hammer.....no dice. I just pulled my RX wheel off and it was a beotch, even with the puller. A EA81 comes off easy compared to a EA82.
  22. I'm still waiting for Russ's gf to post up pics. I gave several people rides in the mudpit riding in the back of the Brat.
  23. Yup, thats exactly what it looks like under my Brat
