  1. Its happened to me a couple times :-\ Not anymore tho!
  2. Tempted to run up there in the Brat. This was from a couple years ago in my RX with the Hankook iPikes.
  3. It wasnt the snow that messed everything up, it was the ice underneath it. I drove Mykeys wife home from my place last night. She didnt want to chance the hill down to South Prairie in her Neon. And it was very icy. Then my SO needed help getting home from Olympia. She has a Mitsubishi Galant with summer tires. She made it to PIA and I picked her up there. I drove my Brat with Hankook iPikes mounted (FTW!) and I had to stomp the go pedal to try and break the tires loose. It took me 45min to get down the hill to Sumner :-\ Elhi Hill was locked up with spinouts and I had to detour back to South Prairie and then thru Orting and finally to hiway 410. Thats when the fun started, (for me, but not so for others). Cars were stuck every where, in the median and on the shoulder. The ones that were doing 10mph I just buzzed past, the others (trucks, SUV's) that were doing 30+ I followed at a safe distance. Hiway 512 in South Hill Puyallup was a real mess, cars all over the place. It was like running a Snow Slalom. I arrived at PIA right after my SO did, awesome timing Had to make some detours getting back home, the hill up into Bonny Lk was still a parking lot. I actually took the worse hill you could pick to get to my place. I didnt want to at first, but I had no choice, they had all the others shut down or blocked and I wasnt about to go back thru Orting (1hr drive). Unfortunately I had 3 cars in front of me and once we hit the bad part, the fool in front lost traction (FWD) because he had no momentum. Luckily, there was a side road that I was able to shoot around and get past. I was very impressed with the Brat and the Hankooks on it.
  4. That wasnt boredom Ed. That had to be done (Didnt want to drop the rear susp in order to drop tank) because the PO had used long screws to install cable to run his under glow kit. I had to patch 4 holes in the tank.........what a moron
  5. If I recall, theres not much room between the tank and sheet metal. Theres about 1.5in, making it difficult even going thru the access plates. Heres a scary pic.....
  6. If its anything like my 93 Imp, the gas tank is under the back seat and partially past the upper shelf into the trunk. No access underneath.
  7. He should re-check the spark on all cylinders again then.
  8. If you have a rotten muffler, it could be sending condensation up into the trunk/cab area. I've seen more than one old GL rotted out in the back due to this.
  9. Remove the disty cap and crank it over. If the rotor doesnt move, your belt is borked.
  10. You still need the parts I have? If not, they go into my black hole shed.
  11. Not worth the price or the hassle of going thr the whole system to get it working again. Heres your air strut cost.
  12. I believe the struts are still available, but they cost around $300ea (last time I checked). Also, dont drive on dry pavement with the 4wd engaged.

Considering how rusted out it is, I would check before installing any lift hardware. If you plan on just lifting with tires, go for it.
  14. Its built into the alternator, you need a new one or a rebuilt (alternator).
  15. Might consider a hi-po coil, 8mm plug wires and NGK Iridium plugs. If your replacing all the bearings, seals, etc I would use a good synthetic oil.
  16. Mud? Royal? Right/left? Prison?
  17. Thats why I said its weird. The problem showed up all of a sudden, out of the blue. It acts like its running out of gas, not flooding. Hmmm, just had a thought. Wonder if my choke is closing?
  18. Thanks guys, I did a search and found the info on the fpcu right after my post. I hot wired the pump to make sure it works, it does. I started the car and it ran for a min, then died. The carb (Weber) is getting fuel, I can see it squirting into the intake. I might have to go back to my original assumption, that I have bad gas. Who knows where the pickup is in the tank? Front or back? Heres my symptoms, they are quite strange... Runs ok, until you stop or turn right. Then it dies I already took the top off the carb to see if theres junk in it, its clean. And I installed a new filter up front (no filter in the back).
  19. Trying to find out why my fp isnt working and I'm having difficulty locating the fp relay on my 85 Brat (no power to fp with key all the way on, no ecu). Is it under the dash, or under the passenger seat?
  20. The bolt pattern on the up-pipe is different for the TD04. You need to cut the flange off the up-pipe and replace it withe one from a WRX up-pipe. Any EA82T up-pipes/down-pipes will work on a EA81T also and are easier to find for modding.
  21. Ah, ok. In your original post you said you had no insurance, so I was wondering what was up.
