  1. Need to know if its a 5spd or AT and if its 4wd or fwd. And you would be wasting your money if you bought a end link for a WRX, because it wont work.
  2. Nobody other than a enthusiast would know if you swapped a 5spd and rear disc brakes on it. And I dont think they would complain or devalue it, I wouldnt. As a matter of fact, thats my next build. With some slight improvements And to put a price on it is hard to do. Showroom floor condition with low miles, I would say maybe $3K.
  3. Looks like the race is on!
  4. I cut my "turbo" teeth on this model, I've owned and worked on several of them. They can be a bit finicky, like all the early turbo engines from Subaru, but the parts arent that hard to find. One in this condition and low miles should not be a DD for your wife (been there, done that....it was wrecked in less than a year). Get a Legacy if you want a DD. And I think I know who has the car for sale and will guarantee any car or work from his shops. I also know he probably wont budge on the price. He might work with you on a Legacy tho.
  5. Maybe try and add to the tube so it comes out further? I'll get over it.......Just watch out for a snowball at next years X-Mas tree run
  6. Thats what I said :-\ I'm looking at a FSM right now. You need to take the kick panel off and there should be a window at the bottom in front of the rocker panel. The tube runs into a hole in front of the rocker and comes out in that area. If I had time I would scan the pic and go out and look at my coupe also. But I dont atm.
  7. Never said it was a EA flywheel, its a ER flywheel. I assumed it was a EJ PP because it didnt look like any EA/ER PP I have replaced before. But even when I was in the mudpit at WCSS11 with a carload, then up at Greenwater doing donuts, I never had any clutch slippage.
  8. My RX tranny has been holding up under 170+ torque for almost a year now. I dont do any hard launches, but I do alot of redline runs. I totally toasted/borked/destroyed my last PP (EA PP, ER flywheel) and didnt have $ at the time for a new one. But I did have lots of used stuff laying around, some of which was given to me (Thanks Ed). Now I'm not positive, but pretty darn sure that what I grabbed out of my pile was a EJ PP. It didnt match anything I had used previously, but it bolted right up to my ER flywheel/clutch. I havent had a problem one with this combo so far. I would rather have a clutch slip a little, than have a tranny grenade.
  9. I believe the drains come out into the rear of the front wheel well.
  10. Need to rear Rguyvers write up on his Brat. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=58869&highlight=brat+swap
  11. Most of you know I'm one stubborn sob, it takes alot to get me change. I've dumped alot of time and money into my RX project and will continue to do so in the future. I made my point I do plan on upgrading soon, as I have a need for speed. And I'm going to do the same thing with this engine as I did with the EA82T. I do foresee less problems with this build than the EA82T tho.
  12. I believe he is. I think all of us might be.
  13. You have a destroyed bottom end because of a cracked head? If you want to build a bullet proof EA82T, better have deep pockets. I know you can get Wiseco pistons from RAM for it, I would cryo treat the crank. I think better mains are available, along with rings, but cant remember from where. Ceramic/Teflon coatings are also a option, but again pricey. I'll see if I can find the info on the pistons, etc. Heres the link. http://subaruxt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=3575&st=0&sk=t&sd=a Altho its for a ER27, its still basically EA82 internals.
  14. Welcome to the Forum. This type of question usually belongs in the Retrofit Forum, so if it disappears, look there. To answer a few of your questions tho, its been done by a few folks here. CalebZ and Caboobaroo are the ones I know off hand that have tried it. Yes, tried. They used the SPFI block (9.5:1) and kept the EA82T intake and ECU. It really needs the knock sensor, so drill and tap the place on the block where it should be normally. The only way to make this setup reliable is to not increase boost past 7lbs. It wont matter what you have to cool things or increase fuel, the EA82 isnt designed for this. Even the EA82T isnt well designed for increased boost.
  15. They call those "Tinted" here in the States. They look good tho.
  16. I did my trade this morning. Got rid of a 8x10 metal shed and came home with these. Be putting them on my SVX...............when I eventually get it running
  17. 185/70/14 Hankook iPikes. I had them on my RX last winter, the thing was unstoppable.
  18. As far as I know there were no blacks made. Its kind of a rare color after 84. There is a dark gray that almost looks black. They made a short run of 3dr RX's the last half of 89, which one of them is mine.
  19. Putting the Brat to work again... All the pieces to a 10x8 metal shed. Trading it for some Tribeca wheels for my 92 SVX.
  20. I see you swapped trunk lids also. Looking good, makes me want to get motivated. Nah
  21. Have you tried Auburn Subaru? Or contact Backwoodsboy here, he works at a Subaru dealership in parts back east.
